How are the Gallery authors holding up? Like the new Author's Gallery badge? Reply #204. Feb 04 24, 9:19 PM |

January was the first month I didn't get it done in time (I just submitted my second); just real life busy-ness. I'm still a fan though! Love being pushed into new ideas. :) Reply #205. Feb 04 24, 10:11 PM |

I'm still loving the whole idea! Love the new badge :) Love being pushed to try new things. Any chance of some Tom Thomson or Group of Seven in the months to come? Reply #206. Feb 04 24, 10:38 PM |

"Any chance of some Tom Thomson or Group of Seven in the months to come?" Not in the months to come, but I can definitely keep these artists in mind once the next set of paintings are added. (They are done well in advance.) Reply #207. Feb 04 24, 10:56 PM |

I also love the new badge! This month's requirements are a lot more closely linked to the painting, which is neat. Reply #208. Feb 05 24, 5:37 AM |

I love this challenge, and wait anxiously for the start of each new month to discover what the requirements will be. This month I was particularly pleased to see the return of subcategories as one of the requirements for the monthly painting - though I am aware that others might disagree with me :D. Reply #209. I actually held off creating new templates at the end of January just in case my ideas fitted into the February gallery requirements. As it happens none of them did. But that's great because now I have even more ideas for quizzes. Reply #210. Feb 07 24, 3:30 PM |

After being later-than-expected to finish January, I got February done a couple weeks before the end of the month. I'm sitting here now being like "why isn't it March yet?" These non-problems are immense. Reply #211. Feb 22 24, 10:09 AM |

Thanks for the Guitar Hero requirement for this month btw it's like 2008 all over again and it's nice seeing as the genre has had a mini-resurgence lately. Reply #212. Feb 22 24, 12:08 PM |

First time that I'm in the same position too, Kyle. I got my pending Jan and my Feb quizzes done by early Feb and now I'm waiting for March. Going to try and get some adopted quizzes out of the way till then. Reply #213. Feb 23 24, 4:46 PM |

Usually around this time, I am panicking that I need a second quiz for the month but I too finished early. I think because it was February with one to two less days than the typical month, I thought I better finish early. Reply #214. Feb 23 24, 8:35 PM |

Yes I finished early too! I'm always afraid to start a new quiz because I always end up thinking, "but what if it's a requirement for next month's painting?" Reply #215. Feb 24 24, 6:16 AM |

I find that I lump these quizzes in with Commissions and other challenges into an imaginary basket called "Quizzes to write between quizzes of my own". I hope this does not sound disparaging but these quizzes are a different approach. My 'own' quizzes start with a nub of an idea and are built on with layers until you end up with a quiz - a layered effect. The Art challenges and Commissions start with someone else's idea and you build on that - More like a 'shell' effect. The end product is indistinguishable from the other but the approach is different. While I have embraced the Art Challenge with the same temerity as the Author's Kitchen (Gotta get to 400 - fast!), the monthly quota of a minimum of two 'extra' quizzes (this month was three) on top of regular quiz writing makes quiz writing tasks for a month relentless. I need to find a way to factor these AC quizzes into my allotted time for quiz writing for the month. So far I have failed abysmally. They are still seen as extraneous rather than integral activities. Still enjoyable, immensely so, but other parts of my life outside FT are compromised. Reply #216. Feb 26 24, 2:11 AM |

There's still a little time left before the new month to get a template created for February! You can finish and submit it in March as long as you create the template before the month switches over! Reply #217. Feb 29 24, 7:50 PM |

The March requirements have worked out nicely for me, as they work well with a couple of quizzes that I was already planning to write. Reply #218. Mar 01 24, 8:10 AM |

Many months ago, when the TRIC challenge was still ongoing, I had an idea for a quiz that I ended up not pursuing. I had, however, a nice Word document filled with ideas that now will come in very handy for one of the quizzes. I already have an idea for the other. Life is good :-)! Reply #220.
