Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Sailor Mercury

Answer: Amy Anderson

Originally known as Ami Mizuno in the Japanese anime, Amy is the first of the Sailor Scouts to reunite with Sailor Moon on Earth, appearing only a small handful of episodes into the show's first season run. With the power of bubbles and water, it's a bit surprising to see her in action, if only because Mercury is known to be one of the driest planets in the solar system, but she makes up for the disparity with her immense knowledge; Amy is one of the brainiest characters in the series.
2. Sailor Venus

Answer: Mina Aino

Debuting in the series as Sailor V, Mina is later determined to be none other than the actual Sailor Venus when she and her cat, Artemis, finally have their reunion with the Sailor Scouts closer to the end of the show's first arc. Known as Minako Aino in the original Japanese show, Mina's powers revolve around beauty and love, both of which lean into her tendency to appear as an aspiring actress and model.

Interestingly, Mina was able to come into her own powers without meeting Serena first; her early counterparts weren't able to do this until they were placed in harm's way.
3. Sailor Moon

Answer: Serena Tsukino

The show's main character, Serena is also known as Usagi Tsukino in the original Japanese anime. English viewers may simply decide to refer to her by her long-disliked nickname, 'Meatball-head', which was given due to her unique hairstyle. Aside from being the leader of the Sailor Scouts, Serena is also the Moon Princess. Using the powers of love, goodness, and magical items, she's able to band together with the guardians of other planets to protect Earth, her friends, and everything beyond them.
4. Sailor Mini Moon

Answer: Rini

Known mononymously as Rini in the English dub (or Chibiusa in the original Japanese), Sailor Mini Moon doesn't show up in the series until Sailor Moon and her original four Sailor Scouts defeat Queen Beryl. Actually on Earth and hailing from the future, Rini is the girl who would be Serena and Darien's daughter and as such she possesses numerous overlapping powers.

This said, the two couldn't be more different, and their conflicts stem from Serena's immaturity (countering Rini's general tendency to be independent).
5. Sailor Mars

Answer: Raye Hino

Usually found working at the Shinto shrine with her grandfather, Raye is known for using the power of fire both in battle and in her personality; she's the feistiest of the Sailor Scouts by a longshot, often using her stubborn attitude to protect her friends. Raye and Serena are often seen at odds since both have a tendency to get on each others' nerves.

This said, Raye's upbringing can be attributed to a mature discipline unseen in the other Scouts. Outside of her Sailor Guardian form she's also able to wield ofuda scrolls.
6. Sailor Jupiter

Answer: Lita Kino

The Guardian of the solar system's largest planet, Lita is physically stronger than the other girls but she also has a sensitive side, having grown up without her parents. Although she throws the hardest punches of all of the Sailor Scouts, she also has the ability to fire off electricity to fight foes. This is likely because in mythology, Jupiter (or Zeus) wielded the lightning bolt.
Interestingly, Lita's go-to colour is green (even the electricity is green!).
7. Sailor Saturn

Answer: Hotaru Tomoe

One of the only characters in the series not to receive a distinctly Anglicized name when the series was dubbed, Sailor Saturn also happened to be one of the last of the Sailor Guardians to appear, only showing up in time for "Sailor Moon S" (based on the 'Infinity Arc'). Younger than the other Scouts, Hotaru's Sailor persona is meant to be a protector against total annihilation; her powers include forcefields, energy beams, and prophetic visions.

Her powers are so extensive that she could, theoretically, destroy a galaxy.
8. Sailor Uranus

Answer: Amara Tenoh

One of the older Sailor Scouts, Sailor Uranus doesn't really appear in the roster until deeper into the series (at the start of what would be the 'Infinity' Arc) when she and Neptune both emerge into the story. The tallest of the Scouts, her powers stem from air and wind manipulation though her dexterity also comes into play when she wields a sword, much unlike the other scouts who generally avoid using formal weapons. Generally depicted as androgynous outside of her Sailor form, she was under fire by critics due to her lesbian relationship with Sailor Neptune.
9. Sailor Neptune

Answer: Michelle Kaioh

Partnered with Sailor Uranus as per the official writers of "Sailor Moon", Michelle appeared with her counterpart at the start of the show's third arc. Prolific with music and instruments, Neptune uses the power of the sea but also utilizes one of a trio of special items bestowed upon the outer three planets, specifically the Deep Aqua Mirror.

Her original Japanese name is Michiru Kaioh.
10. Sailor Pluto

Answer: Trista Meioh

Although featured to a much greater extent in the original "Sailor Moon" manga, Sailor Pluto shows up later in the anime's second season in a bit of a downplayed role. Despite this, her ability to use the powers of space and time to fight evil are quite powerful. Appearing as a university student, she's one of the older Sailor Guardians. Quite distant compared to the other girls (perhaps due to Pluto's actual distance), it was originally believed she didn't exist.
