The rumour in Liverpool is that Steven Gerrard will be leaving the team. He wants to win a championship medal before he gets to old to join a top team. Under erratic manager Rafael Benitez it does not seem possible at Liverpool and he himself could be on his way out if Liverpool do not finish in the top 4 in the league this season. My money is on a move to Chelsea, a team he nearly went to a couple of years ago. Do you think he will go and to which team?

Statistically, you have more chance of getting $h!t out of a rocking horse! Even with a new Chinese takeaway at the kop end! Or would that be a Syrian falafel bar? :))

Good Luck,Bernie!

Latest odds for winning the English Premier League 2010/2011

13/8 Chelsea
2/1 Manchester United
5/1 Manchester City
6/1 Arsenal
14/1 Liverpool
28/1 Tottenham Hotspur
150/1 Everton
200/1 Aston Villa
750/1 and upwards the rest
5000/1 newly promoted Blackpool

I will be backing Liverpool of course and Man.City. Anyone else care to put their money where their mouth is?

I think those odds look about right,Bernie. Based on last season, anyway. Might be a little different if you consider pre-season games, though. Chelsea and Man $hi!y have had a bit of a mare!

Bit unfair about the pies, though. Wayne didn't actually eat them all himself. He and Ryan Giggs recently held a charity medal polishing day,but they mis-calculated. There was so much to do,it ran over into two days, and they had to feed their guests, didn't they? :))

BTW - any idea why United are playing in the Charity Shield on Sunday? I thought it would have been Portsmouth,as beaten Cup Finalists. Looks like they 'got out of jail' again today. Another one up the Khyber for the taxman!

All very well and good RED but basically what it boils down to is us Taxpayers funded Portsmouth F.A. Cup win just like we are still sponsoring Newcastle via Northern Rock !

I'm sure the Sunderland supporters will be over the moon about that one.

Just a bit of fun, navaho! But I can think of much worse things to fund than an ailing football club, loved by many thousands of TAXPAYERS! Like duckhouses, bookcases and moat cleaning for MPs? Or 'bonuses' for already over-paid,incompetent bankers? Or maybe the odd war or two in a country thousands of miles away from us? And that's assuming HMRC has their figures right. How many millions has their pursuit of Portsmouth F.C. cost the taxpayer?

As I said, just a bit of fun. Perhaps your points warrant their own thread? :)

Wonder how many of Gosforth-based Northern Rock's current 4500 employees are Sunderland fans? OR how many of the 2000 that lost their jobs? Or the further 650 that are set to go before the end of the year?

Sorry from me,too! But I have some experience of HMRC,and they don't impress me much. :))

Chelsea are playing Man Utd, because, when a team does the "double", it is the runners-up in the league who are invited.

Talk about getting off the subject of the thread - it's meant to be about Liverpool, but you keep mentioning things relating to Wembley!

Hey, as long as we are having a bit of fun you can wander off anywhere and I did ask for predictions for who is going to win the leagues next season.

Sorry - that was meant to be a comment on the Liverpool's chances of getting anywhere near Wembley.

Lol, I haven't looked at the odds of Liverpool doing the double, I might risk 20p on that.

So,Trabzonspor then. Bet Roy will be on the phone to Graeme Souness - didn't he play for/manage them?

Glad to see Stevie G and Torres are staying. Any news on Masher?
