That sounds like a very unusual an I would think rare allergy. I attend a specialist in Allergies and Immunology because unfortunately I am one of those people who suffers from a rare condition. Believe me it is no fun. Reply #1. Jan 12 16, 5:15 AM |

Can you imagine being allergic to water and breaking out in hives and a horrible rash every time you get wet? On hot days, this poor lady has to stay indoors because even her own sweat can cause a rash to appear. She says that one of her children is starting to shows signs of having the same allergy. Because this allergy is so rare, there's not much that doctors can do. Reply #2. Jan 12 16, 6:34 PM |

It's not really an allergy to water. When water, even pure distilled water, hits the skin, it mixes with the oils on the skin to form a toxic to their body substance. The hives are the result of that interaction. At least 100 cases of it have been recognized in modern medical literature. Reply #3. Jan 12 16, 7:18 PM |

I have a definite allergy to WORK. Every time I start to engage in this WORK, I break out in a cold sweat and become feverish. I always do the smart thing and stop this WORK immediately and do something fun, like playing trivia! Reply #4. Jan 12 16, 11:25 PM |

I find a dose of Funtrivia tends to clear up my work allergy quite nicely too. As for someone with a water allergy, at least they can have Funtrivia too while they're indoors! Reply #6. Jan 16 16, 6:17 PM |

Hives are miserable & believe me, I know! I have had them every single day for close to 2 years. Nobody can help me get rid of them because I don't know the cause. I get them several times per day sometimes. Awful! :( Reply #7. Jan 16 16, 10:52 PM |
