Our decorations consist of 5 handmade trees and three silver metal. Everything else has been donated due to our downsizing. Reply #3. Dec 01 16, 6:21 AM |

Two trees: one in the living room and one in the basement party room. Last year, for the first time, I went over to the dark side and bought an srtificial tree. Luckily, the two cats don't bother them. Reply #4. Dec 01 16, 7:04 AM |

Green tree. I always get one with roots and try to keep it alive for more than one year. Most success was 10 years with the same live tree but recently it's not worked with rooted trees. They've been repotted as recommended but died anyway. Very old decorations - many from my and my husband's childhood times. Reply #5. Dec 01 16, 2:28 PM |

It's my first Christmas in my new house. Got a large white tree, new tinsel, flashing lights and two packs of baubles (1 red, 1 green). Don't know what other colours I'll use, will have to have a look in my Christmas box. Reply #6. Dec 01 16, 4:48 PM |

No tree for me since the kids got grown. We use to go cut down a tree in the mountains (in the snow) but no more of that living in the Houston area. Reply #7. Dec 01 16, 5:35 PM |

A much shorter one than the last one, that's for sure. It got caught in the overhead fan when someone decided to shift it across the room. Always artificial though as I can't bear the thought of uprooting a live tree just for a few days. Maybe next time, I'll buy a live one in a pot and then when it outgrows the container, have it planted in the garden. Decorations: I like silver tinsel and silver lights. It's so pretty against the dark green and shimmers beautifully whenever there's a slight breeze. Reply #8. Dec 01 16, 6:49 PM |

Looks like I didn't get any new tinsel after all, will have to buy some. Put my tree up the other day and it made an awful mess. Didn't realise when I bought it that it's covered in glitter, so I've ended up with glitter all over my floor. Reply #9. Dec 03 16, 5:02 PM |

My little tree is only about a foot tall, with small round ornaments of different colours, some silver tinsel and a short piece of gold garland around the bottom as a skirt. Reply #10. Dec 05 16, 8:25 PM |

Oh, it also is covered with white lights! It belonged to my Sweet Mother who passed a little over 4 years ago. Reply #11. Dec 05 16, 8:52 PM |

My tree is up. It looks a little like Charlie Brown's tree, but it has lights, ornaments and an angel on top. It will have to do. Reply #12. Dec 05 16, 11:06 PM |
