Growing up, I loved many games: Life, Mousetrap, Clue, Monopoly, Yahtzee, etc. These days, I still have a closet filled with some amazing games. TOns of 'em: Tellestrations, Scattegories, Loaded Questions, Apples to Apples, Taboo, Quelf, and the best of them all, Cranium. I will host game night with my friends and we'll all play games; it is wonderful. Everyone brings food or we get pizza. We might have to shelve Monopoly for a while, though, as there was quite an argument over Park Place and Boardwalk not being traded. My cousin was MAD! I tell you, if by some chance I knew my time on Earth was short, I would request that my family all gather and we literally spend my last hours playing a number of board games (while eating the best food, of course!). A lot of fun games we played as children didn't even require a board. We used to play "Hangman","Consequences" and "Noughts and Crosses" - only paper and pencil were required for those. If you didn't have a paper or pencil you might play "20 Questions" or "I spy" or my friend and I used to test each other to see if we could name the football (soccer) grounds for each team in our division of the league. Along the lines of subbuteo I used to play a game called "Test Match" at my friend's house. It was his dad's old game and it was awesome, here's a link to the description: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/4784/test-match My grandad had a game called "Striker" too, that was also brilliant and once he'd let me try it I never enjoyed my subbuteo set as much because I thought it was an inferior game by far. Here's a link for "Striker": http://www.peter-upton.co.uk/striker.htm https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ybufS3vWM6o Reply #63. Sep 18 16, 8:08 AM |

Monopoly, played it tonight at my sister-in-law's birthday party! She loves the game, was her idea, myself, I had outgrown it, but it was one of her wishes! Reply #64. Sep 30 16, 11:12 PM |

Growing up we had lots of games, because all the adults in the family liked playing them, too. Some of the games were at least 20 years old and included: Go to the Head of the Class, Shenanigans, Monopoly, Clue, Scrabble, Battleship, Trouble, Sorry, Candyland, Trivial Pursuit, Yahtzee, Parcheesi, Chinese Checkers, and a vampire themed board game that came with a pair of fangs, which was actually played quite a lot. Other games that are not exactly board games included Time Bomb, Concentration, Jeopardy, Lie Detector, Operation, Simon, Ants in the Pants, and Barrel of Monkeys. Reply #65. Oct 01 16, 1:48 AM |

Scrabble and Monopoly. My maternal Grandmother taught me how to play Scrabble when I was in the 3rd Grade. Reply #69. Apr 19 17, 7:05 PM |

I'm trying to convince my friends/family to give some games a try. Elder Sign and Pandemic are some I want them to try... all to lead to Arkham Horror, my ultimate goal. A few Christmases ago I tried to get my family to play it but it was way over their heads/too hard for them. But... one day. Reply #71. Dec 22 17, 10:13 AM |
