Although I'm a Lincolnshire Lad (and a true Yellow-Belly; and would strongly advocate everyone to check out Lincs if you've never been) I think that the Isle of Wight is a fantastic place and certainly one of the best counties in the UK. Reply #21. Feb 26 12, 5:03 PM |

Wiltshire. Even without shouting about it. :) Although it could do with a coastline... Reply #22. Feb 29 12, 4:50 PM |

You need a coastline... go south. Dorset is awesome. Reply #23. Mar 07 12, 11:51 AM |

Pembrokeshire comes a very close second to my home of Leicestershire. The green rolling hills just sum it all up. Oxfordshire, especially the west, is also close to my heart. Reply #24. Mar 07 12, 12:52 PM |

Further to my post in the 'Which country do you live in atm' - I live in Devon BUT I was born and bred in God's Own County'... Dorset, of course! I would just like to add that I am here in Devon on missionary work (local joke) Ha ha Reply #25. Mar 07 12, 1:12 PM |

I agree with #24. Pembrokeshire has some of the best beaches in the UK. with lovely coastal paths too. They are much less crowded and less commercialised than South Coast beaches in England. It's hard to compare counties though. Cumbria has the lake district - beautiful hills and lakes but there are interesting things to see in every county. Scotland has so many beautiful areas. I am rather attached to the county I was born in: Warwickshire. I love it's gentle green rolling landscape, trees, wild flowers, old villages, rivers. It's the sort of landscape Shakespeare wrote about as well as JRR Tolkien (for the Shire) and Edith Holden and artist who wrote and illustrated a nature diary of the area. Beauty on a human and domestic scale without anything too dramatic. Nothing to alarm you. Hobbits would love it. Reply #28. Apr 11 18, 2:36 AM |

Somerset. Exmoor, coastline, Quantocks, quirky little villages, and lots of very happy childhood memories. Reply #30. Jun 18 18, 8:48 PM |

I love the Northumberland coast. Beautiful beaches. Love the UK. So much to see here. I have never been to the Gower Peninsular so that s my next target area. Been most everywhere else in the UK. Reply #32. May 16 20, 1:02 PM |
