Would LOVE South Africa to win, not that I'm biased or anything :) I think this World Cup will be an interesting one, Australia not doing as well as they usually do, Pakistan in a turmoil, SA hot and cold as usual the list goes on. Reply #1. Dec 10 10, 10:00 AM |

From England's performance in the Ashes, they must be among the favourites, but I won't hold my breath. Reply #3. Jan 08 11, 6:39 AM |

The most open World Cup of all....any of 6 teams can win this...India, Australia, Pakistan, England, Sri Lanka, South Africa...all equally good, equally bad, equally unpredictable. South Africa sure shot to be there in semis and will choke as ever, so ruled out :-) Pakistan will implode in quarters so don't bet on them :-) India are hot favorites but no "hot favorites" or home team has ever won the World Cup (other than West Indies in 1975 and 1979 and Australia in 1999), so rule India out in semis :-) England are a walking wounded lot these days and may well play Australia or Sri Lanka in quarters, so rule them out :-) Australians can't play spin (I hope), but they will be there in the last 4 and lose there :-) And that leaves me with Sri Lanka...I can't find much against them, so guess I will root for them (and hope and pray India will pull it off :-) ) Reply #4. srini701, I think you've summed it up quite well. Sri Lanka are certainly a team to watch. We have just done a sweepstake in my office and I drew Kenya - quickest R100 I've lost LOL. Reply #6. Feb 15 11, 4:44 AM |

I have to rank Sri Lanka and India as my favourites though I might consider a flutter on England. Home bias aside and ignoring the woeful one day series against the aussies. I do think they have the tools to win in India. I think we can count out Australia, the attack is simply not good enough for me. I can see South Africa flattering to deceive again and I just can't see Pakistan, New Zealand or the WIndies doing it. We'll see what happens I suppose! Whatever happens I'm looking forward to it with great anticipation. Reply #7. Feb 15 11, 6:56 AM |

My choice at this early stage would be India, but I wouldn't rule out South Africa,England or Australia. In other words it's wide open! Reply #9. Feb 27 11, 7:43 PM |

The England/India game was fantastic. At one stage I thought I was watching a highlights package. :) Glad the game was a draw, it would have been heartbreking for either team to lose after such a great performance. Reply #10. Mar 01 11, 5:11 AM |

Wow, what a great game. The England/Ireland game has, for me, been the best of the tournament so far. Go Ireland! :) Reply #11. Mar 02 11, 11:11 AM |

Well Done India! And Sri Lanka - undoubtedly the best two teams in the competition - IMO! Now,roll on summer. So we can see how well both finalists can play proper cricket! :)) (Both India and Sri Lanka are touring England this summer,if anyone didn't know!) Reply #19. Apr 03 11, 9:44 AM |
