What's a movie scene you remember that made you jump?

For me it was Jurassic Park when the Raptors were in the kitchen and jumped up at the ceiling.

Seeing Kathy Bates butt naked in "About Schmidt". It was one of the most frightening things I've ever seen!

"The Shining", where the twins appear awash with blood. I know its coming, but it still makes me jump.

We were watching "Jaws" for a film class and when the guy's head fell out of the boat, the entire theater jumped about ten feet and one guy started swearing.

When I was younger, I took a girl to see the movie "Carrie." Unbeknownst to me, she had already seen it. She waited patiently until the end of the movie for the scene where the arm shoots up out of the grave and grabs Sue's arm. She timed it perfectly - grabbing MY arm at exactly the same time. I must have jumped three feet in the air! The girl thought this was hilarious.

I remember that scene from "Jurassic Park" with the raptors in the kitchen: We were sitting in the first row of the cinema for this movie, and when the velociraptors jumped after the children everybody's feet went right back under the seat - hilarious!

Two: My wife jumped out of her seat (throwing coffee everywhere) in "Arachnophobia" when a spider drops from a lamp onto a woman's hand. The funny thing is, we later watched the movie again, and she did exactly the same thing!

As for me, an oldie and perhaps not well known: "Count Yorga, Vampire." Saw it as an adolescent, and it scared the tripe out of me. Couple break down in their van in the Count's grounds (of course). The guy pulls back a window curtain to retire for the night and the Count's face stares back at him from outside. Had me jumpy for years, as I had to do the same to a window in my room each night.

I recently watched "The Conjuring" & the scene when Bathsheba, the demon witch is on top of the wardrobe, the little girl looks up & sees her & Bathsheba leaps on top of her! I thought I was going to have a heart attack! Also, the scene when the little girl's foot keeps getting grabbed & yanked in the middle of the night & she blames her sister until one night she sees something hiding behind her bedroom door right after her foot had been grabbed! Scary movies usually don't bother me but this one was very disturbing to me.

The scene from "Looper" where one of the minor characters suddenly started losing body parts while running away from his would-be captors. It both made me jump the first time it happened and can also be counted as the creepiest scene I've ever seen in a movie.

Nice call Dreamcoat- that scene in "Count Yorga" kept me away from drawn curtains for awhile.

In 'The Pianist', when the Nazis threw an old man off a balcony. That really shocked me, and the way Wladyslaw's mom screamed didn't help.
