Definitely Dracula for me. I'm not fond of a lot of the other vampire series that the genre has spawned though. IE: First Blood, The Vampire Diaries. The original story is great and the latest series with Jonathan Rhys Meyers is very atmospheric and creepy. Reply #21. Nov 16 13, 7:42 AM |

Haha, that's funny! I can see Dracula acclimating great knowledge in his many years (what with being immortal and all); he could be just as wise as Sherlock. Reply #25. Apr 18 18, 9:08 AM |

Sherlock Holmes. In film and television the story lines are well written and the acting is good in almost all cases. I always stay with it til the end. Dracula is iconic but for all they have done the acting is usually bad and the writing is cheesy and lacks depth. With a few exceptions like Bram Stoker with Gary Oldman these efforts have a hard time holding my attention. Reply #28. Oct 26 19, 9:17 PM |

Sherlock - almost all iterations of him in movies and TV shows and the original one in the books. :) Reply #29. May 13 20, 10:52 PM |

"Count" me in for Dracula, especially the classic 1931 version with the great Bela Lugosi. BTW: He was a Shakespearean actor in Europe, prior coming to Hollwood. Reply #30. Jun 30 20, 10:34 AM |

Definitely Sherlock Holmes. You can't beat Basil Rathbone as the great detective. Reply #31. Aug 02 20, 6:29 AM |

I think that the best acting as Sherlock Holmes is by Jeremy Brett. It was because of him, I became a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRdd1_bZTo0 Reply #32. Aug 27 20, 2:12 PM |

I think there is room for both of them. While their stories are both timeless, they could be updated through the magic of today's creative writers. Reply #33. Feb 06 21, 3:17 AM |
