I think at least 5 pairs are enough! You should have:
1. Sneakers
2. Boots
3. Dress shoes
4. House slippers
5. Either sandles or flip flops

I've got 3 pairs of sneakers, one pair of hiking boots, 3 pairs of dressy boots, 1 pair sandals, 2 pairs stilettos, and 1 pair of slippers. I might longingly eyeball nice shoes in the stores, but I think what I have is sufficient.

I never wear anything but my old pair of boots I bought about five years ago unless I'm wearing shorts. I'd wear the boots with the shorts but the wife does not approve.

I have Steel-Toed Boots for work, a pair of dress shoes, a couple of pairs of hiking boots, high and low topped, 2 pair of sandals, one pair of running shoes, and a pair of very comfy slippers.
I want a pair of cowboy boots, but that's about it.

When my wife and I separated we sold our house. One day, whilst she was at work, I decided to help her out by separating what she was keeping from what I was taking to my new cottage.

By the time I had finished I had located - and this is one woman remember - 166 pairs of shoes and boots... 166!!

And she used to give me a hard time because I had three fishing rods

My husband gave me a hard time because I had three or four eye shadows and more than one handbag, but he had about twenty razors.

I have five pairs of sandals, one black and taupe suede, one red suede, and three black leather, which I wear all year round.

I did have a load of pairs of knee-high leather boots and one pair of knee-high sheepskin boots, but last year I took them to a charity shop. I still have a pair of orange trainers (worn twice: disappointingly uncomfortable), and the shoes I got married in are in a cupboard somewhere. They're rather 70s and probably museum pieces now. The sandals are fine.

I love shoes, always have! Have a closet full of pumps, small heeled high heels for those who don't know, in a variety of colours, some heels higher than others. I've outgrown wearing most of those, from my earlier years. Several pair of sandals, 2 pair of sneakers in colours white and black as well as 2 different coloured pair of boots, brown and black, besides 3 comfortable pair of house slippers, love them!

I had a recent clear out of my wardrobe - clothes, shoes handbags the lot!

3 large bin bags went to the charity shop but as I couldn't bear to put my handbags in the bags friends and family benefited from my clear out.

I have two pairs of work boots, a pair of slip on shoes for around the house, a pair of cowboy boots and my snow boots.
That's all I can imagine I'll need. My sister is one of those with 20 some pairs of shoes and I don't understand it.

Two pairs of sneakers, one old pair for outdoor work, winter boots, two pairs of sandals, one pair of dress shoes, and one pair of cowboy boots. Not counting my dancing shoes or sets for Halloween costumes, since I don't wear those on a daily basis.

I have a thing for boots, so I have a lot of them, especially since winters became longer in my country (it is like winter ate all the spring she could and now spring is, like in an english joke ,in a thursday).
But I have also sandals and shoes, more than I need in fact and often when I do general cleaning I give away a lot.
It's not a good habit for my pockets so I try to reason once in a while that not everything I like or suits me is a "must have"

I have two pairs of dress shoes, high heels and fancy sandals, to be exact. Then one pair of sneakers and one pair of boots. Then a pair of rubber sandals for the beach. In total: five pairs of shoes.
