Who is your favourite regeneration of The Doctor?

For me, it would have to be Tom Baker or David Tennant.

David Tennant - second is Christopher Eccleston. There are some older episodes that stick in my mind though and I'd love to see them again. One is when Patrick Troughton was the doctor and was stuck in some sort of maze where the only way he could get out was to play these puzzle games which would be lethal if he made the wrong decision. The other was from a childhood memory of hiding behind the sofa during one episode with William Hartnell when an alien was squeezing its way into the Tardis towards him. I'm sure the "alien" was just made up of long balloons but it caught my imagination and really scared me as a child. I had dreams about it afterwards.

Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee are my two favourites, although Peter Davison brought a quirky humour to the role.
Of the newer Doctors, David Tennant was by far the best, although the companions, with the exception of Martha, were a pain in the butt.
Since Steven Moffatt took over as head writer and executive producer, I feel that the programme has gone downhill in a big way, to the extent that I gave up watching about midway through the last series with Matt Smith and haven't bothered to watch any of the Peter Capaldi episodes.

I liked Tom Baker but I think John Pertwee edges him out. I really wish Paul McGann had some more time to establish himself.

I forgot to mention to "Coriolanus" that he or she really should give Peter Capaldi a chance. He is doing a very good job so far (minus the sonic sunglasses) all in all very good.

Mine is David Tennant!!! No doubt about it, he beats all. Although, Matt Smith is pretty funny!!!

Troughton ....though you have to compare those episodes to material of that time , its seriously dated now . Modern - Tennant or Ecclestone , Smith was a clown IMO and not a good actor - but had good scripts. Capaldi though I think a good actor with poor scripts .

I just started to watch "Doctor Who", so I have seen only Mr. Capaldi. Thus I will choose him for now. :)

I've watched all episodes since it restarted and almost all of William Hartnell. I've seen a few episodes from each doctor in between but I'm rubbish at picking favourites. They're all so different, I appreciate what they've all got.

I'll go with Hawkeye Pierce from MASH, he was funny AND intelligent. I can't name one from Dr. Who because I've never watched a full episode of the show.

My favorite doctor would be Dr. Gregory House from House, M.D.

Actually Hugh Lawrie might not be a bad choice - especially looking at candidates mooted to be lined up to take Capaldi's place . Many seem far too young to me .
