Nefertiti is kind of cheat though since we have the bust of her for a reference. Reply #13. Sep 16 17, 10:20 PM |

That's the one of Mozart I couldn't get to work, Mira - thanks! He looks a bit like the American comic actor, Martin Short. And I agree about Nefertiti. Given the period in which she lived, and unless they have her skeleton, a facial reconstruction is unlikely. There's some excellent ones I've found. Beethoven was frowning in his, and it says you can see the saw marks where his ears were sawn off. I don't know whether they meant HIS ears or the ears of the mask. They may have needed his ears to see why he went deaf. Not that he cared. He heard the music in his mind. Oh my goodness - just found some info on it. It WAS his ears they sawed off! How disrespectful. There's still one floating around today. No wonder he's frowning. Maybe I'll submit this info as a single question to see how much attention people pay to these threads. Reply #14. Uh, maybe I'm missing something, but where did they get the skulls of some of these people to do facial reconstruction? Reply #17. Sep 17 17, 2:34 AM |

Creedy, There's a death mask of Mary Queen of Scots - most attractive death mask I've seen - especially considering the nature of her death. http://tinyurl.com/ybatsx8p Reply #18. Sep 18 17, 5:08 PM |
