What a strange subject. Are you a tree salesman? Are you expecting there to be tree experts on this site or people with the power to influence tree planting policy in the USA? Reply #1. Apr 26 19, 12:27 PM |

Nope just irrepressibly curious. I encountered a question the day that I posted that that stated that several species of trees in Australia were pretty much fire proof and then encountered someone belittling the current President of the United States for his earlier suggestion that California would have fewer wildfires if we raked it once in a while. I just put 2 and too together and came up with fore! Reply #2. Apr 29 19, 6:56 PM |

I don't know about fireproof trees. It sounds counter-intuitive, but the raking of forests for the purpose of fire prevention turned out to be exaggerated or a misunderstanding about the country quoted as doing it to successfully prevent fires, I seem to remember reading. In any case, with the acreage to rake every year, I imagine that would require huge manpower at great expense. Reply #4. Apr 30 19, 1:05 AM |

I live in a fire prone area in Australia and have researched this. There are quiet a few and not all native to Australia. One famous actor surrounded his LA home with fire resistant trees and was one of the few housed to survived the fires. Google it and find lots of help. Ironically the eucalyptus trees in Australia explode like fireworks. Reply #5. Nov 09 19, 1:25 AM |
