So,... My Mind Melt game today had 'noncompliance' as the correct antonym of 'obedience'.... it also had 'disobedience' as the antonym of 'conformity'. Aaarrgghhh !!

That scenario pops up way too often in MM. I invariably choose the wrong one.

The only time I have felt I "won" that exchange was when I had a daily challenge to get at least 28 right in mind melt and I had not 1 but 2 of those. ambiguous pairs on the same set. I chose the same answer twice on each pair both so as to avoid the possibility of missing all four I am just surprised it worked and I didnt miss another pair elsewhere in the set!

Today's Mind Melt had the following:
Traitor = Outlaw;
Thug = Criminal; and
Coconspiritor = Felon
Ridiculous!

Answers removed, as the game is still 'live'. I'll replace them tomorrow. ~~ postie

Dangnabbit, there were answers? I haven't played yet. ~~ the rabbit

There are so many ridiculous pairings that I gave up trying to understand them years ago.

MM is three games at the same time! I try to answer the easier ones first, then work my way to the harder ones.

I never did like the game much, especially the third portion. Some of those 'associations' (aka "is related to") are really a stretch. I can make the connections usually, but certainly not rapidly -- I'm more likely to be abducted by a UFO than get 30 right in, say, 150 seconds.

I understand full well we use a dictionary that's free to use (rather than pay through the nose), but sometimes I think "surely there must be a better 'format' the game could take."

Before I used to avoid MM, now I have grown used to It. Achieved 30/30, but I have now won many rounds of this quiz.

I normally only play Mind Melt when it’s one of the TvT games. Just tried it after reading the other posts and got 30/30 in 126 seconds. No ambiguous answers though!

I kinda like it, even though I’m not particularly good at it I like the way the third section works best if you don’t come at it straightforwardly - it’s like a mental version of those visual puzzles where you sort of squint and cross your eyes to see the picture. Something different than what we normally do here.

I've found it interesting that these words that have two matches are still in the game. I know it's not a FunTrivia-specific dictionary being used, but if inappropriate language was removed, then I would have thought the same could be done regarding the words that have multiple matches.
