Today is again a waiting day: I will have the 4th
Challenge but I have a challenge of waiting.
Diff challenge new quiz in the 40 minutes
Tuesday idem new quiz in the 40 minutes
Monday easy two new quizzes in the 40 minutes.
It's useless to know if today the 4th challenge is
an easy, medium or difficult one?

I've never been sure what the point of this thread is unless you are trying to work out what difficulty the 4th challenge will be... and after over a month the answer seems to be 'whatever the server picks' - which I could have told you on day 1. Anyway, unless someone can give me a clear and logical reason why this thread is vital and contains an answer to life, the universe and everything which isn't 42, I'm inclined to close it at the weekend. Thanks, Flopsy, much appreciated. I also find it handy especially near the end of the week if I have one of those long, marathon type challenges (like score xxx points in xx Game) and feel like I don't have time to complete it. I read this thread and believe it to be useful. When the new system for Daily Challenges began, I naively believed that a fourth Challenge when awarded would be totally random, with different types of fourth Challenges for different people. But Phil was onto something, and I think he deserves credit for it. I don't get fourth Challenges every day because I'm not that aggressive with my Daily Challenges, but on days that I do get a fourth one, it always seems to match with the same type Phil said for that day. I am a big believer in the usefulness of pattern recognition, and much of my game strategy over the years has evolved with my own recognition of patterns I see (and have dutifully noted in various threads over the years). Learning from what others notice certainly isn't "cheating", it should be encouraged. If others don't care, it doesn't bother me, but I believe the transmission of information that isn't specifically banned for a good reason (like helping people find the Treasure, for example) is a good thing. Years ago I offended some people by describing in detail what certain Epic Challenges were about. Apparently there was a view by quite a few people then that Epic Challenges were a big secret that no one should talk about beyond acknowledging they existed. I didn't think so then and I don't think so now. Anytime someone notices a pattern and reports it (as long as it isn't specifically banned, as I said before) , I think such reporting is useful. I also don't believe in "ex post facto" rules. If administrators really wanted to keep something secret, they should be clear about it from the beginning.
