No one really knows where the nickname, "Rocket", came from, but Richard said that he thinks it came from his teammates. Most people think it was coined in an issue of the Montreal Gazette.

Harry Broadbent was the first captain of the Maroons, he captained them during their inaugural season of 1924-25. Duncan Munro took over as captain after him, from 1925-1928.
