When automobile engineer, Jack Butler loses his job his wife, Caroline, sees it as the perfect opportunity for her to go back to work. So the two of them make a bet that whoever finds a job first, will work and the other will stay at home. Caroline is hired at an advertising agency and her and Jack's roles are reversed. Jack kisses Caroline goodbye as she heads off to work and he begins his day of cooking, cleaning, shopping and chauffeuring their three children. Caroline deals with her new success and a flirtatious boss while Jack stresses over his hectic new life, with the support of Caroline's friends. When Jack and Caroline's baby girl, Megan, knocks over a potted plant, Jack asks their eldest son Alex where his mom keeps the vacuum and Alex responds "You mean Jaws?" Alex explains that Jaws is what his mom calls the vacuum. Jack finds this humorous, but the name is justified when Jaws attacks.
