Answer: "I'll give you Auntie Em"
This quote is spoken by the Wicked Witch through her crystal ball, whilst Dorothy is trapped within her castle. Auntie Em had previously been seen in the ball, calling to Dorothy. Dorothy responds, crying "Auntie Em! Antie Em! I'm here in Oz, Auntie Em and I'm trying to get home to you! Oh, don't go away, I'm frightened!" When the Witch responds, Dorothy, of course, can hear her and breaks down sobbing once more. The Witch's motive is most likely to taunt Dorothy.
The Wicked Witch of the West had a total of twelve lines cut from the movie because audiences complained that she was too scary.

Answer: Her singing voice was inadequate.
When MGM acquired the film rights to "The Wizard of Oz", Hollywood sweetheart Shirley Temple was considered a shoe-in for the role of Dorothy. Her subsequent audition was thought to be a formality, but a huge problem was revealed. According to the 1990 documentary "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: The Making of a Movie Classic", Temple's singing voice was considered too weak for the demanding musical numbers, and the producers rejected her.

Answer: "Behind the moon, beyond the rain"
This line is spoken by Dorothy and comes directly before the song "Over the Rainbow". On the farm in Kansas, Dorothy has just been trying to explain the trouble she is in, with Ms. Gulch, to Auntie Em and others. They, however, go about their business, not thinking much of it. Right before Dorothy speaks this line, Auntie Em says, "Just help us out today and find yourself a place where you won't get into any trouble."
The song "Over the Rainbow" was cut from the movie after the second preview because some producers believed it slowed down the plot of the film and MGM objected to having one of its stars singing on a farm with haystacks. One producer, however, won them over and the song went on to be a classic, demanded at every concert Judy Garland gave.

Answer: Over the Rainbow
Judy Garland's famous rendition of "Over the Rainbow" was the final song that composer Harold Arlen and lyricist Yip Harburg created for "Oz". It didn't come easy, however; Arlen battled songwriter's block while attempting to compose the number. Finally, during a trip to the drugstore while nursing a headache, Arlen pulled out a small memo pad and wrote down the music that would become "Over the Rainbow". His labors were almost in vain, as the song was initially cut from the film after a test showing. The film's producers disagreed with the decision, and fought to have the song kept in the film. Their persistance was rewarded, and Arlen walked away with the Academy Award for Best Song.

Margaret Hamilton was the choice for the witch. For her green pigment, copper was added to her face and hands. Remember the scene in Munchkinland where she comes to warn Dorothy? When she disappeared into the floor, some of the flames burned her face and hands to the second and third degree, mainly because of the copper being such a good conductor of heat.

From Quiz: All About the 'Wizard of Oz'
Answer: Terry
Terry was a Cairn Terrier, and Terry, believe it or not, was a she and not a he. Her film career included various appearances in a total of fifteen films, longer than some human hopefuls who managed to scrape out a meagre existence in bit parts. These films included the 1934 "Bright Eyes" with Shirley Temple. Terry was born in 1933 and died in 1945. She almost lost her life during the making of the "The Wizard of Oz" when one of the Winkie guards accidentally stood on her. Fancy having your life threatened by a winkie. Terry's salary for the film was a startling $125 a week, which was much higher than some of the lesser known actors who also took part in its production. Judy Garland developed a strong attachment to Terry/Toto during the making of the film and wanted to adopt her, but the dog's owner refused to part with his little barking gold mine.

Answer: Frank Morgan
Morgan, born in 1890 in New York City, got the role of Professor Marvel. When Toto escaped Miss Gulch's picnic basket and ran back home, Dorothy told him they had to run away since Miss Gulch would continue to look for him. When she ran off, she saw Professor Marvel and he invited her inside his carriage to look at a crystal ball. As he looked in the crystal ball, he described Dorothy's farm and he told her he saw a woman and Dorothy realized it was Aunt Em. Professor Marvel informed Dorothy that Aunt Em was crying and that someone she loved broke her heart. He hinted that she was sick and Dorothy told him she had to get back to her. Morgan also played the Wizard of Oz, a gatekeeper, a carriage driver and a guard of Emerald City in "The Wizard of Oz". He was seen in the movies "Henry Goes Arizona", "Tortilla Flat" and "A Stranger in Town". In 1935, Morgan received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the film "The Affairs of Cellini", but he lost to Clark Gable for "It Happened One Night". The only other Oscar nominee for Best Actor in a Leading Role that year was William Powell for "The Thin Man".

One of many characters deleted before filming began, Bulbo was the Wicked Witch's son. Early drafts of the "Oz" screenplay contained a subplot involving his ascension to the throne of Oz. Like his wicked mother, Bulbo was given a counterpart in the film's Kansas sequences, appearing as Miss Gulch's son Walter.
