Yet, the money Glaus commanded from free agency was too great for the Angels to pay, and they instead gave the third base position to the young hotshot prospect Dallas McPherson. Later that offseason, the Angels would use the money saved on Glaus to sign Paul Byrd and Orlando Cabrera.
