Marilyn was the "homely" niece. When her dates would run off after the sight of the family, she thought she was scaring them away. Grandpa made a potion to help her keep a steady boyfriend, but Marilyn was late for school and couldn't try it. Herman, Lily and Eddie tried and it turned the mailman on to Lily, while the next door neighbor was instantly attracted to Herman and all the girls in Eddie's class chased him home.
