Redd Foxx was born John Elroy Sanford in 1922. Redd played the role of Fred G. Sanford on the TV show "Sanford and Son" from 1972-1977, a character which was 15 years older than he was in real life. Mr. Foxx went on to star in TV shows such as "Sanford" (1980-1981) and "The Royal Family" (1991-1992). He passed away in 1991 at the age of 68.
