Answer: The Beatles

The Beatles are quite possibly the most famous band in the history of music. A 27-song CD of all their #1 hits contains "Yesterday" while the other two songs are notably on the White Album.
2. What animal band would "Take It Easy" going to the "Hotel California" even if they weren't "In the City"?

Answer: The Eagles

The Eagles released "The Very Best of The Eagles" in 2004, which also contains such hits as "Life in the Fast Lane", "Desperado", and "I Can't Tell You Why".

Answer: The Monkees

The Monkees are well-known for their song "I'm a Believer" which was remade by Smash Mouth and later used in the movie "Shrek".

Eagle Eye Cherry's most popular song, "Save Tonight", was released on their 1998 album "Desireless".

Steppenwolf's undoubtedly largest hit "Born to Be Wild" was released in 1968 eventually landed them the album "Born to Be Wild: A Retrospective" in 1991.

Answer: The Turtles

Other than the Eagles, it seems that The Turtles were one of the few animal bands of the 1960s to actually use the correct spelling of the animal used. The Turtles are known for their smash hit "Happy Together", which is one of the standout songs of the 1960's.
