Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who does James quote as his attorney?

Answer: Charles Dasilva

Bond's cover is that he is the son of a wealthy Jamaican plantation owner. Charles DaSilva of Chaffery's Kingston, he said, would make the story stick if questions arose.
2. What wave length were the Compagnons de la Chanson broadcasting on?

Answer: Medium Wavelength

This is the part when Mathis brings James a radio. Instead of broadcasting the French orchestra, he sets the radio on a long wavelength and turns up the volume, deafening the Muntzes who are listening in on James and Mathis.
3. If I asked you how to make a "Vesper", should you reply with: A dry Martini in a deep champagne goblet with 3 parts Gordon's Gin, 1 part Vodka, and a half part Kina Lillet. Shaken, not stirred, with a large, thin slice of lemon peel?

Answer: Yes

Bond drank his own unique drink, which he called the Vesper after Vesper Lynd. He was going to have it patented, but after "Casino Royale", he never drank it again, and instead drank the much more widely known Bond Martini.
4. "Mais n'enculons pas des mouches". This is a vulgar way of saying what?

Answer: We won't split hairs

Bond said this to the barman at the Royale after he ordered his Vesper with Felix.
5. How much money does Felix give to James during the game of Chemin-de-Fer or Baccarat?

Answer: 32 million francs

Felix saved James from being totally cleaned out, and allowed him to continue with the game.
6. True or false? When James tells Felix the recipe for his unique drink (later called the Vesper), Felix tell James that it should be called a Molotov Cocktail.

Answer: True

In honor of the skirmish he had had earlier.
7. When the gunman (later revealed as a SMERSH gunman) threatened James during the Baccarat game, he gave James ten seconds to remove his bet. What language did the gunman count to ten in?

Answer: French

Luckily James escaped this encounter unscathed.
8. All of Le Chiffre's aliases translate roughly to what (in English)?

Answer: The cypher (or cipher)

One of the exceptions to this rule is the alias specifically mentioned in the book, "Herr Ziffer", translates to "Mr. Figure" in English.
9. Who saved James from being beaten to death by Le Chiffre?

Answer: A SMERSH assassin

The SMERSH gunman left his mark though. He carved the Russian letters "Sh" into the back of James's hand, marking him as a "shpion", a spy.
10. What does the initial "S" stand for in Head of Station S?

Answer: Soviet Union

S=Soviet Union. Pretty easy. Many departments in the British Secret Service carry a similar naming system.
