The girls attend the school with the obnoxious acting student Howard and the weird-but-nice piano student Steven. Chandler and Barry are Honey and Rose's boyfriends. Clarence was in a brief romance with Cinnamon before his parents found out and shipped him off to boarding school. Reuben and Tony were friends of Barry's who joined the girls for a night out that Honey later regretted.

Hoping to keep Rose out of trouble, Cinnamon claims that the computer printed copies were left on the floor of her closet. Ms. Fairchild didn't believe her because all the rooms are thoroughly cleaned before each school session begins and the pages were found by Rose's chair.

But Cinnamon insists that she brought them to the dining room herself. After a lecture about loyalty and the evils of gossip, Madame Senetsky lets the matter drop.

Cinnamon's parents couldn't make the the first because of her father's heart problems and the second because of her mother's chest cold. Neither Steven nor Howard's parents showed up either time.

As the girls are talking to Gerta to learn more about her, Ice is looking through a stack of old records. She finds a recording of the song 'Short'nin' Bread'. She recognizes it as a song her mother sang to her when she was little. She sings it for Gerta, who is delighted.
