"...Baby One More Time" was Britney Spear's first studio album released in 1999. The song was written by Mikey Bassie and Eric Foster White. Mikey Bassie performed the song with Britney on the album. Five singles were released from the album: "...Baby One More Time", "Sometimes", "(You Drive Me) Crazy", "Born to Make You Happy" and "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart". Britney's first album is still rating as one of the best-selling albums of all time (2021).

As a result of the radio airplay the song was a success and earned Twain's first Gold Single.

"A New Way to Fly" was released by Garth Brooks in 1990 on his "No Fences" album. A joint song writing effort with Kim Williams, it was inspired by real life feathered friends perching on high wired fences. Brooks liked the symbolism as it reminded him of the great Merle Haggard, and as we now know that is how a song is born.

Lea Salonga sang "Reflection" for the movie "Mulan" in 1998. Unfortunately for Salonga the more known version of the song is performed by Christina Aguilera. Aguilera recorded the song as her debut single. To gain further publicity, Aguilera's version added scenes from the movie "Mulan", to promote the belief that she was involved, but that is not the case.

"Hey, Mr. DJ (Keep Playin' the Song)" was recorded on the Backstreet Boys 1997 album "Backstreet's Back". The Backstreet Boys formed in 1993 in Florida, consisting of five members. As of the time this quiz was written the band is still going strong and with the same line up they began with, that being, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson.

In 1997 Celine Dion recorded "My Heart Will Go On" for the soundtrack of the film "Titanic". The music was written by James Horner and the lyrics by Will Jennings. Not only did the movie become a blockbuster but the song was an enormous hit. This has become Celine Dion's signature song.

Written by Bob Regan and George Terenn and recorded by Billy Ray Cyrus in 1998. The song has a typical western theme where everything has gone wrong, and in this case it is the father not buying the lemonade sold by his daughter, not playing with his son, or spending time with his wife - he is a "busy man". Cobain died in 1994 and his death certificate gave the cause of death as suicide: "contact perforating shotgun wound to the head". Many theories have emerged querying this; some believe it may have been murder.

Green Day, an American rock band, was formed in California in 1987, by lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt. "Chump" was released on their album "Dookie" in 1994. Armstrong wrote the song about the boyfriend of a girl he liked.
