Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. You're a new Night Elf player. Where do you begin your journey?

Answer: Aldrassil

Aldrassil, like many other starter areas around the extensive "World of Warcraft", is primarily for players from level 1 to 5, and progressing through it at higher levels is likely a waste of time because you will soon find that only minimal experience will be gained. Players begin in the Shadowglen area itself killing level 1 creatures for grinding and quests, and then progressively working up to spiders and other more malicious creatures. Once new Night Elves have made their way through the ranks, they can head south out of the zone to begin their new journeys. Aldrassil contains minimal trainers and traders; they only have enough to keep you going for a short time.
2. What town can be found between the Night Elf starting area and Darnassus?

Answer: Dolanaar

Dolanaar is the next step for new Night Elf players. Once you've hit level 5, it's best to move on, and Dolanaar is the perfect place to do it. For quests which cover most of the eastern half of the zone, Dolanaar is filled to the brim with worried NPCs in need of help, whether it be clearing out regions, collecting drops, or simply delivering messages.

In addition, this town contains some of the traders and trainers that you may not have been able to get a hold of in Aldrassil, so before you stop off in Darnassus at the end of the path, it may be wise to stop in at a couple of these helping hands.
3. Starbreeze Village is overrun by which of these?

Answer: Furbolgs

A low-level area in Teldrassil, Starbreeze Village is found just off the beaten path between Shadowglen and Dolanaar (players turn southbound to reach it). Certain quests found in Dolanaar will take new Night Elf players back to this small, infested town to defeat the Furbolgs, but they aren't that tough if you're going through the game a t a steady pace (ie. leaving Shadowglen around level 4 or 5).

The creatures here rarely pass level 6, and their leader, uruson, is also quite easy to defeat. This village was once occupied by Night Elves who have since moved to Dolanaar.
4. Darnassus does not contain which of these areas?

Answer: Sanctum of the Moon

While Darnassus, the major Night Elf city, does not contain any location known as 'Sanctum of the Moon', it does contain the Temple of the Moon, a spiritual wing of the city containing a number of NPCs. Warrior's Terrace is the first area new players will enter upon reaching Darnassus, its borders also include the city's front gates.

The Cenarion Enclave is a Druid and Rogue area in the north end of the city; the Night Elf heads of the Cenarion forces reside here. Finally, the Temple Gardens are in the west-central portion of the city.

The largest region by far, this part of the town contains the city's bank and the portal to Rut'theran Village.
5. You've decided to leave Teldrassil for the first time. How can you do this?

Answer: By boat

The only way off of Teldrassil is by boat or via portal or hearthstone. First-time players will need to go to the city of Darnassus and take a portal to the seal-level village known as Rut'theran Village. This small town contains the only flightpath location on Teldrassil (not even Darnassus has one) and the boat to Auberdine on the coast of Darkshore. Rut'theran Village is quite smalls and it the lowest point (and the most southerly) in Teldrassil. Very few amenities exist here because of the village's easy access to the major city of Darnassus, but all new players who aren't Night Elves will likely go through here (and must go through here) to get to the rest of Teldrassil.
6. Which area can not be found in Teldrassil?

Answer: Farstrider Retreat

Farstrider Retreat is found in Eversong Woods' eastern half, so players are a long way from casually visiting. The remaining three answers are all in the southwestern end of Teldrassil, each one containing a number of low-level quests for new Night Elf players. Gnarlpine Hold is the furthest south and it contains a Strange Fruited Plant for questing players.

The Pools of Arlithrien are slightly to the north; this area contains a moonwell much like the Oracle Glade. Finally, Banethil Hollow contains a number of Gnarlpine Furbolgs, and the cave found here is filled with a number of enemies which can rack up quest objectives.
7. A tree found at the Oracle Glade is in what odd shape?

Answer: Bear

The Oracle Glade is found in the northwest corner of Teldrassil near Darnassus, and most players coming here will be attempting some of the higher level quests of the zone obtained from Glade guardian Sentinel Arynia Cloudsbreak. This region is relatively well-known for containing Bloodfeather Harpies; this is the only instance of such creatures within all of Teldrassil.

In addition, spiders (which can be found around most of the northern regions of the zone) make their home here. The odd tree is protected in the center of the Oracle Glade at the end of a long path heading north to the edge of the zone.
8. What is the only river found in Teldrassil?

Answer: Wellspring River

Wellspring river, which juts into the northern half of Teldrassil, forms the small body of water known as Wellspring Lake. Although both of these have very little impact on most players (save a few quests), Wellspring Lake contains one of the larger waterfalls seen in the game as its contents spill over the edge of Teldrassil's cliffside perimeter into the waters below.

The area is filled with Timberling Mire Beasts and Elder Timberlings, but none of these should be a problem- the highest level creature you'll see here is about level 10.
9. Teldrassil rests on which body of water?

Answer: The Veiled Sea

A solitary island, Teldrassil is one of the few zones which doesn't directly border any other locations. Found off the northwestern coast of Kalimdor, players need to travel across great expanses of water in order to reach this land. Although the Night Elves originally resided in Northern Kalimdor, events in the history of "Warcraft" have pushed the race to the island of Teldrassil where they now live in the protection of a giant tree. Because Teldrassil is so separate from the rest of the continent, many players will opt to leave early in order to explore, level, and progress at a faster pace.
10. There are no instances in Teldrassil.

Answer: True

Like most starting zones, Teldrassil does not contain any instanced dungeons or elite areas at which more seasoned players can tempt fate and pull through for achievements and rewards. The closest instanced dungeon would be Blackfathom Deeps in Ashenvale, but to get there, new players would need to hop on a boat to Darkshore and run down the length of the zone to Ashenvale's Zoram Strand found right on the coastline.

This instance is for players in their mid-level 20s. Most of the northern zones in Kalimdor do not contain any instance locations.
