After her parent's nasty divorce, Mary Jane dealt with her feelings by becoming a party girl. Often visiting her aunt next door to the Parker's, his aunt tried to set the two up. After dodging Mary Jane for a while, the two finally met in "Amazing Spider-Man #42". They quickly became friends, dated, and then eventually married in volume 1 of "Amazing Spider-Man Annual #21".

Answer: "With great power there must also come great responsibility!"

The phrase, "With great power there must also come great responsibility!" is used quite often during flashbacks of Peter's conversation with his Uncle Ben. The first time this phrase was used was not by Uncle Ben, but in the final panel of "Spider-Man" in "Amazing Fantasy #15", which the narrative says, "And a lean, silent figure slowly fades into the gathering darkness, aware at last that in this world, with great power there must also come -- great responsibility!" Later issues flashback to the words coming from Uncle Ben during bonding moments with Peter.

In 2002 during the filming of the movie based off the Marvel character, Ben Parker's quote was shortened to, "With great power comes great responsibility!"

Answer: Lance Bannon

Lance Bannon was first introduced in "Amazing Spider-Man #208" in 1985 as a hard working photographer who often beat others to the punch at the Daily Globe. When the Daily Bugle was looking for photographers, both Lance and Peter were hired. Often portraying masked heroes in a bad light, he quickly warmed his way into the heart of J. Jonah Jameson.

In order to get the best shots, he found himself too deep in some very messy situations. One such situation led him to know a bit too much, which caused his death by the unidentified wearer of the F.A.C.A.D.E. armor.

Answer: The accidental death of Gwen Stacy

In "Amazing Spider-Man #122" Norman Osborn, after returning from the dead and donning the Green Goblin costume again, kidnaps Gwen Stacy, and then tosses her off of the George Washington Bridge. In order to save her life, "Spider-Man" shoots webbing to catch her.

The web incorrectly wrapped around Gwen, resulting in the breaking of her neck. Gwen and Peter were very close, and knowing that his actions resulted in her death tore him up emotionally inside for years to come.

Answer: Cissy Ironwood

The story of Cissy Ironwood and Peter was a brief one, beginning in 1979 with her first appearance in "Marvel Team-Up #80". During the time that Mary Jane left and went to Florida, Peter dated various women. One such woman was Cissy Ironwood. Their dates always seemed to end with a bang, including one of their earliest dates when a werewolf, who turned out to be Doctor Strange, attacked Cissy.

Her father is Professor Daniel Ironwood, and the two of them were kidnapped by Colonel Alesi Mikhailovitch Vazhin and the Soviet Super-Soldiers. With so much going on in New York, and the return of Mary Jane in Peter's life, Cissy moved out of the city and headed west where things are just a little bit simpler.

Answer: Ezekiel

Ezekiel appeared in "Amazing Spider-Man #30" strangely knowing a lot about Peter Parker, including the history of "Spider-Man" and his powers. He wanted to use his knowledge to help Peter, but Peter was unsure and weary of his intentions. While in the Astral Plane, "Spider-Man" got into a battle with Shathra, where he was greatly outclassed, and was beaten to near-death. Ezekiel saved him, and while "Spider-Man" was recovering from his wounds, Ezekiel told Peter the story of the original "Spider-Man", and how Peter was actually part of a whole line of people who gained powers with the bite of a spider, and that Peter had a history stemming from a spider-god in the Astral Plane.

In the third panel of the first "Spider-Man" story in "Amazing Fantasy #15", the narrative says "As for Pete's Aunt May, she thought the sun rose and set upon her nephew!" as Aunt May says to Peter, "I cooked your favorite breakfast, Petey -- Wheatcakes!" His Uncle Ben replies to his Aunt May, "Don't fatten him up too much, dear! I can hardly out-wrestle him now!"

Answer: Joy Mercado

In 1983, Joy Mercado first appeared in "Moon Knight #33" as a very tough and wise street-smart reporter. She is very pretty, confident, and downright flirtatious, yet that doesn't stand in the way of Peter and Joy's professional relationship, and they have remained just good friends. Joy keeps Peter on his toes at the Daily Bugle, and encourages him to become a professional journalist, and not a lazy one who simply wants to take pictures. Together they have been kidnapped and partnered on many journalistic adventures involving terrorism, werewolves and super villains.

Answer: George Stacy

NYPD Police Captain George Stacy first made his appearance in "Amazing Spider-Man #56" in 1968 as a retired police captain. Even though he was retired, he still kept up with the goings-on in the department. George Stacy liked Peter Parker, and was happy that his daughter, Gwen, had chosen to date him. George Stacy had started to see many similarities between Peter and "Spider-Man", but kept that to himself.

When a battle between "Spider-Man" and Doc Ock happened, parts of a building began to fall. Stacy leapt in front of a boy to cover him from harm, and this caused his own brave death. Upon his dying moments, he spoke his final words to "Spider-Man", "Be good to her son, be good to her.

She loves you so very much." It was at that moment that comic book readers knew that George Stacy did in fact know in his heart that Peter was really "Spider-Man".

Answer: Matt Murdock - Daredevil

Daredevil first appeared in 1964 under the comic book titled "Daredevil #1". As a young child, Matt's father raised him to know right from wrong. In his teens, Matt tried to save an elderly man who had walked in the path of a moving truck filled with radioactive waste.

While saving the man, radioactive material splashed in his face, and he became blinded. In time his other senses developed and were enhanced due to his disability. Putting his skills to good use, he became one of the best crime fighters in the Marvel Universe.

His first encounter with "Spider-Man" was to help him take down the Circus of Crime. They teamed up many times since then, but the most dramatic event that brought the two together emotionally was the death of Jean DeWolff at the hands of Sin-Eater. Stopping "Spider-Man" from making a tragic mistake, Daredevil placed his life on the line.

The two have bonded since then, placing trust in each other enough to know each others identities, and sharing a mutual understanding in the fight against crime and injustice.
