Answer: 'The Magic Flute'

Yes! This is 'The Magic Flute' by Mozart. 'The Bat' is in German called 'Die Fledermaus' and is by Strauss. 'The Ring of the Niebelung', 'Der Ring des Nibelungen' is by Wagner and finally 'They All Do It' is originally in Italian 'Cosi Fan Tutte', also by Mozart.
2. Who wrote the music for the title opera?

Answer: Mozart

It is indeed an opera by Mozart. Gounod wrote the music for 'Faust' and the others? Read above.
3. Who wrote the libretto?

Answer: Schikaneder

Schikaneder was a prominent German actor, singer, playwright, and theatre manager who is now mainly remembered for this libretto. Nannerl was Mozart older sister - Anna Maria. 4. Who are the loving couple in this opera?

Answer: Tamino and Pamina

The prince Tamino and the beautiful Pamina actually do get each other in the end. Rosina and Count Almaviva are from Il Barbieri di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville). Cavaradossi and Tosca are of course from Tosca, and they don't get each other in the end. Violetta and Alfredo are from La Traviata and that doesn't end happily eather. Sad stories some of these.
5. Who is it that helps the prince in his struggle?

Answer: Papageno

Papageno helps Tamino and at the same time he searches for a girl for himself. He sings 'Der Fogelfaenger bin ich ja...' Figaro is the barber of Seville and helps Count Almaviva to get his Rosina. Later on his own love story is told in Il Nozzi Di Figaro. Iago is Othellos enenmy that nearly convinces him that Desdemona is unfaithful. And Sarastro is a priest in Die Zauberfloete.
6. Who is the mother of the prince's love?

Answer: The Queen of Night

Papagena is the girl for Papageno. Mimi is from La Boheme and Grenadine is another name for the flower carnation.
7. What famous aria does the Queen of the Night sing?

Answer: 'Der Hoelle Rache'

It is 'Der Hoelle Rache', maybe one of the most famous arias of them all. 'Der Fogelfaenger bin ich ja...' is Papagenos also well known aria. 'Ach ich liebte' is from 'Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail', also an opera by Mozart. 'Nun hoert, und versteht mich recht!' is from Wagner's opera 'Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg'.
8. What three tests must the prince go through to win his love?

Answer: Silence, fire and water

First Pamina fears that all is lost when Tamino doesn't speak to her and thinks of suicide. She is then comforted by kind spirits and finds strength to aid Tamino through the trials of fire and water.
9. Does this opera have a happy ending?

Answer: Yes

It does actually (not all that common). Everybody gets each other. Tamino and Pamina, Papageno and Papagena.
