Answer: September 10, 1960 in Hampshire.

Both Colin's parents are academics. His father is a history lecturer at King Alfred College in Winchester while his mother lectures in Comparative Religions at the Open University. Three of his four grandparents were missionaries. His brother is an actor and he also has a sister.
