Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of Aaron's sister?

Answer: Miriam

Exodus 15:20 Miriam was sister to both Moses and Aaron. She was Moses' older sister who watched Pharoah's daughter find baby Moses in the bulrushes. Then later on, after the Israelites were led out of Egypt, she led the women in song as written in Exodus 15:20-21.
2. According to the King James Bible, who built Nineveh?

Answer: Asshur

Genesis 10:11 Asshur also built Rehoboth and Calah. He was also of the seed of Noah.

Some translations credit Nimrod with building Nineveh, but this question concerns the King James Version. The original text is not completely clear.
3. How many pieces of silver did Joseph's brothers get for selling him?

Answer: 20

Genesis 37:28 Joseph was sold to some Ishmaelites and brought to Egypt. Joseph had eleven brothers. Including Joseph, this makes the twelve tribes of Israel. Also, another interesting piece of information is that the Ishmaelites were the offspring of Ishmael, who was a son of Abraham. Joseph was Abraham's great-grandson, which means he was bought by some of his relatives.
4. Before becoming king, what was David's profession?

Answer: Shepherd

1st Samuel 16:11-13 David was the youngest of his siblings. In addition he was a shepherd. These two things put together made it unlikely for him to become king, but the prophet Samuel still knew that David was the man that God chose to become king.
5. To whom did God give 15 extra years of life?

Answer: Hezekiah

Isaiah 38:5 King Hezekiah was near to death, but God heard his prayer and added 15 years to his life. This only occurred after the prophet Isaiah told Hezekiah that he needed to set his house in order.
6. Who said, "It is better for me to die than to live."?

Answer: Jonah

Jonah 4:8 At this time Jonah was camped just outside of Nineveh. Because of the intense heat Jonah thought it would be better for him to die than to suffer in the elements.
7. Who was struck dead for lying about an amount of money he gave?

Answer: Ananias

Acts 5:1-11 Not only did Ananias die but his wife Sapphira did as well. This happened because they both lied to Peter and to God.
8. Where was Abraham born?

Answer: Ur

Genesis 11:27-28, 12:1, Acts 7:2 Abraham was the father of Isaac and grandfather of Jacob. He also is the great-grandfather of the men that made up the twelve tribes of Israel.
9. Who did Jesus heal of blindness?

Answer: Bartimaeus

Mark 10:46-52 Because Bartimaeus had the faith that Jesus could heal him, he was healed. Jesus said in Mark 10:52, "Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole."
10. Which king was Jonathan's father?

Answer: Saul

1st Samuel 13:16 Saul was Jonathan's father. He also attempted to kill David, who was Jonathan's friend, on multiple occasions.
