The link for this group is Paris. The famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci is on display in the Louvre, in Paris, even though it was painted in Italy during the Renaissance. The portrait of Lisa del Giocondo is probably the best known work of art in the world.

Paris Hilton is a member of the Hilton dynasty, founded by Conrad Hilton and his hotel chain. Paris is his great-granddaughter and was particularly prominent during the 2000s. Her television programme, made with Nicole Richie, was called 'The Simple Life' and aired from 2003 until 2007.

Helen of Troy was famously abducted by Paris, the event which triggered the Trojan War. Described as the most beautiful woman in the world and the 'face which launched a thousand ships', Helen was married to Menelaus. When Paris, the son of King Priam of Troy, either kidnapped, or eloped with, Helen, her husband and his allies were quick to retaliate leading to the devastating war. Paris was the man who killed the hero Achilles.

The red mill, or red windmill, is the literal translation of the name of the Moulin Rouge, the well known cabaret venue in Paris which has a red windmill on the roof. Founded in 1889, the same year the Eiffel Tower was constructed, the Moulin Rouge is famous for its elaborate shows, which continued even during the German occupation of Paris during World War II.

Blackpool, in Lancashire is a famous English seaside town known for its tower, which resembles the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Blackpool has a long promenade, running between its two piers, which is about one and a half miles long but which is known as the 'Golden Mile'. It has various attractions along its length including amusement arcades and souvenir shops.
7. Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy's link to this group is his appearance in the film 'The Golden Child', which came out in 1986. Murphy is the man chosen to rescue a Tibetan boy called the Golden Child who has the power to save the world. Murphy has to fight a demon in disguise, played by British actor Charles Dance, to save the child and return him to Tibet.

The fleece is a symbol of authority and Jason has to capture it to assert his right to the throne of Iolcus in Greece. His brother, Pelias, had stolen the position and set Jason a task which he considered would be impossible. With the help of Medea, Jason's task is successful.
He later marries Medea but treats her poorly with disastrous results.

This grouping takes us to the southern hemisphere as four of the clues have links to the country of New Zealand. Although the 'Lord of the Rings' novels themselves were written in England, the films were shot in New Zealand with various regions of Middle Earth being created in parts of the country. Add in that the director, Peter Jackson, is a New Zealander and the connection becomes clear.
10. Edmund Hillary

The mountaineer and explorer Edmund Hillary was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and is the first man known to have reached the summit of Mount Everest, accompanied by his Sherpa guide, Tenzing Norgay. They achieved the feat in 1953, with the backing and organisation of the Mount Everest Committee and the support of over four hundred other men led by John Hunt.

Christchurch is the largest city on New Zealand's South Island being given the name by John Godley, its founder, who had attended Oxford University's Christ Church college. The Maori name is Otautahi. Its location means it is vulnerable to earthquakes with a particularly severe one in 2011 causing nearly two hundred deaths.

In Maori mythology, Rangi and Papa are the couple who created the world and the native people of New Zealand. Rangi represents the sky while Papa is the world. Crimea is where Florence Nightingale revolutionised nursing by creating a safer environment for the soldiers injured during the Crimean War, which took place from 1853 to 1856. Florence was known as 'The Lady with the Lamp' due to her late night rounds to check on the wounded men, but it was her insistence on hygiene which made sure more of them survived.
She was named Florence after the Italian city where she was born.

The Venus referred to here is the painting by Botticelli which hangs in the Uffizi Gallery in the city of Florence. 'The Birth of Venus', to give the artwork its full title, depicts Venus in a giant scallop shell floating on the sea and being blown towards the shore by Zephyrus, the god of the west wind. Awaiting her is one of the minor goddesses known as the Horae who is holding a cloak ready to cover the naked body of Venus.
15. The Magic Roundabout

In the English language version of the television show 'The Magic Roundabout' the name of the little girl who appears in the show is Florence (she is called Margote in the original French). Florence is the owner of Dougal, the dog, and is friendly with all the other characters such as Zebedee, Mr Rusty, Brian the snail and Dylan, the rabbit.
The English version of the show was narrated by Eric Thompson, who created the words based on the visual images he saw. It bore no resemblance to the scripts used for the French version.
16. Firenze

This clue is rather more literal as Firenze is simply the Italian name for Florence, although those of you who have read the 'Harry Potter' books might have been tempted to think of mythology as one of the centaurs in the stories is named Firenze. The city of Florence is the capital of the Tuscany region and is renowned for its art, which includes the statue of David created by Michelangelo.
