Izabella Dorota Scorupco was born on June 4, 1970 in Bialystok, Poland. At the age of eight she moved with her mother to Sweden. As a teenager she worked as a model. Her big break came at the age of 17, when she starred in "Ingen Kan Alska Som Vi" ("Nobody Loves Like Us").
In the late 1980s and early 90s she recorded several music albums, which brought her fame in Poland and in Scandinavian countries.
She's the first actress, who was born in Poland, to play in a "Bond" movie. In 1996 Izabella Scorupco married Mariusz Czerkawski, Polish former NHL star. The couple divorced two years later. As for 2009 she has two children: Julia (from her marriage to Czerkawski) and Jacob (from her actual marriage to Jeffrey Raymond).

Joanna Pacula graduated from The Theatre Academy in Warsaw in 1979 and starred in many Polish productions in Warsaw Dramatic Theatre. She appeared twice on cover of "Vogue" magazine. For the role of Irina Asanova in "Gorky Park" (1983) she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Music fans may recognize her as a beautiful Soviet girl from Elton John's music video "Nikita".

Roman Polanski was born Rajmund Roman Liebling on August 2, 1933, to a Polish Jew father and a Russian mother. He lived throughout World War II (his father was a survivor from the Mathausen Gusen concentration camp, but his mother was murdered in Auschwitz-Birkenau) and took up acting in the early 1950s.

His debut as a movie director was in 1955 with "Zaczarowany Rower" ("The Magical Bicycle"). In 1962 he directed his first feature-length film called "Knife in the Water", which brought him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.
