The cartoon usually relates to the episode, for instance, when Homer was an astronaut, there was an episode of 'Itchy & Scratchy' where Itchy tied Scratchy's tongue to the moon. 'Tom & Jerry' is also a cartoon about a cat and a mouse, but it is not shown on the 'Simpsons'. 'The Garfield Show' is about a cat and 'Mickey Mouse' is about a mouse with lots of animal friends.
