Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Logan is taken ill on helicopter - his son Kendall is made acting CEO.

The first part of this takes place in the first episode of the show, "Celebration", with Logan being taken ill on a helicopter ride back to Manhattan after his annual family softball game. In episode two, with Logan recovering in hospital, the siblings Roman, Kendall, and Shiv bicker over who should take over as acting CEO in his absence. Kendall is chosen, with Roman taking over as COO.
2. Kendall fails to secure a vote of no confidence against his father, who fires him in response.

This event takes place in episode six, "Which Side Are You On?". In episode four, at Waystar's annual foundation gala, Logan interrupts Kendall's speech to announce he is returning as the company CEO. In episode five, an explosive family argument erupts. This, in combination with Logan's erratic behaviour after his stroke in the first episode, causes him to strike Kendall's young son Iverson during a family game of "I Went to Market".

These events lead to Logan's trusted advisors Gerri and Frank, along with his sons Kendall and Roman, attempting to gain a majority vote to remove Logan as CEO in episode six. With Kendall stuck in Long Island, delaying his attempts to get to the vote on time, Logan insists it takes place without Kendall's appearance with him in the room. After bullying Roman into changing his mind, Kendall's vote fails and he, Frank, and everyone who voted against him are fired by Logan when he finally arrives at the meeting.

Actor Jeremy Strong, who plays Kendall Roy, fractured his foot filming the scene running through Manhattan to get to the meeting in Tom Ford dress shoes.
3. Kendall is involved in a fatal car crash at Shiv and Tom's wedding but flees the scene unharmed.

A lot happens in a "Succession" finale and "Nobody Is Ever Missing" sets the tone for what was to come. Tom and Shiv's lavish English wedding is interrupted by Kendall telling Logan that he and his friend Stewy would be bidding to take over WayStar, Logan firing a waiter for spilling champagne on him, Logan's eldest son Connor announcing his intentions to run for president, Roman being responsible for a Japanese satellite launch explosion and Shiv telling Tom she wants an open relationship... hours after marrying him.

After being fired by his father, Kendall relapsed into drug addiction and asked the waiter Logan fired if he knew where to get cocaine. On the way to the waiter's drug dealer contact, Kendall swerved the car to avoid hitting a deer and crashed into a river. Despite repeated attempts to save the waiter from drowning, Kendall is unsuccessful and walks back to the wedding in a state of shock. The next morning, Kendall's room key card is recovered from the water by police at the scene and Logan creates a cover story that the deceased waiter stole it and promises to make the case disappear if Kendall calls over his takeover bid with Stewy and attends rehab for his drug addiction, to which he agrees. Some wedding!
4. Waystar employees appear before Congress over the reports of sexual assaults on cruise ships.

The seeds of the cruise ship scandal storyline are sewn in season one when Tom receives documents about the sexual abuse that took place on WayStar's cruise line and orders Greg to destroy them, only for him to make copies to keep to himself.

In "DC", the ninth episode of season two this storyline comes to the front when Shiv informs the family that the Senate wants senior company officials to testify at a hearing about the scandal. Shiv herself is sent to silence a witness a sexual assault victim from testifying against the company and successfully offers a settlement to buy her silence, while members of the family and company field questions from the Senate. With no scapegoat in sight to shift the blame for the scandal onto, Logan tells Shiv that they will need to make a "blood sacrifice" to keep the company alive, which would turn out to be Kendall in the next episode.
5. Logan sacrifices Kendall in order to save the company - but Kendall blames Logan in the press conference.

The season two finale, "This is Not For Tears," takes place on a large yacht in the Mediterranean after the family takes a holiday in the immediate aftermath of the Senate testimonies from the previous episode. At breakfast, the Roy family and Logan's counsel come together and argue over who should be the scapegoat, with almost everyone mentioned at some point. Eventually, Logan approaches Kendall in private and tells him to take public responsibility for the scandal, to which a despondent Kendall agrees, claiming it is a suitable punishment for his role in the death of the waiter in the season one finale. Logan tells Kendall he isn't a "killer" that could ever run the company and sends him and Greg to New York for the press conference.

At the press conference, Kendall publically implicates Logan for the cruise ship scandal and has prepared copies of the documents made by Greg to prove his claims. Logan watches on, on his yacht, surrounded by his family with a wry smile on his face. Perhaps Kendall is a "killer" after all.
6. In Tuscany, Kendall reveals the details of the wedding crash to his siblings.

A lot happens in season three, with Kendall unsuccessful in his attempts to sway the siblings onto his side leading to one of the most depressing birthday parties of all time, WayStar being raided by the FBI, and Matsson, the head of tech company Gojo, looking to acquire WayStar and paying Logan a settlement to exit from the company.

This all culminates in the season three finale, "All The Bells Say", set in Tuscany at the wedding of the siblings' parents and Logan's ex-wife Caroline. When Roman learns of the plans for GoJo to acquire WayStar, he tells Shiv and Kendall who are furious that their chances of ever succeeding their father as CEO will diminish if he is removed from the company. It is here where Kendall breaks down on the floor, devastated by his failures as a father and his whistleblowing plan from the season 2 finale and admits his role in the death of the waiter from the season 1 finale. In a rare moment of alliance, he is comforted by his siblings.
7. The siblings' triple alliance fails to halt the sale of Waystar to Gojo due to them being deprived of voting power.

This happens immediately after Kendall's breakdown in "All the Bells Say", with the siblings recalling a supermajority clause in the divorce agreement between Logan and Caroline, whereby the three children have the right to vote for or against any change in company control. Shiv informs her husband Tom, in a phone conversation, of their plan.

Roman, Kendall, and Shiv arrive at the villa where Logan and his team are held up and he refuses to halt the sale. Upon hearing their plan to activate the supermajority clause Logan puts Caroline on the phone, who informs them that the divorce agreement was rewritten and the clause was removed, effectively making the siblings powerless to stop the sale. Tom arrives at the end to comfort a despondent Shiv. It was him though that informed Logan of their plans.
8. Logan skips Connor's wedding to meet Gojo CEO Matsson, but passes away from a cardiac arrest on the plane to Sweden.

This takes place in the third episode of season four, "Connor's Wedding". Logan misses his own son's wedding to board a plane to Sweden to meet with Matsson. It is at the wedding where Roman receives the news from Tom that Logan is severely ill and not responding to CPR on the plane.

In a scene shot in one thirty-minute take, the siblings are given their last chance to say their goodbyes to their dying father, while they rush to find each other and inform each other of the news. Connor does eventually get married, in front of only a few guests, as everyone leaves to handle the aftermath of Logan's passing as his plane touches down at the airport.
9. ATN calls the election for Republican candidate Jeryd Mencken.

Mencken was first featured in the season three episode "What It Takes", where Roman chooses to support his fascist and far-right leaning views as featuring him would boost the viewership of the Waystar-owned ATN News, to Logan's agreement.

In the season four episode "America Decides", Tom is left to manage the ATN newsroom on election night amidst significant tension between the siblings. Roman convinces Mencken to block the GoJo deal in exchange for the support of ATN News. When Kendall agrees, Tom calls the election for Mencken despite the protests of his wife Shiv, who has been secretly working with Matsson in the preceding episodes in order to get the deal through and have herself instilled as CEO under his ownership.
10. Shiv's deciding vote confirms the sale of Waystar to Gojo. Her husband, Tom Wambsgans, is appointed as the new CEO.

In the preceding episode "Church and State", Logan's funeral takes place amidst significant public protest about the results of the election. After Roman breaks down delivering his eulogy, he runs straight into the protests and incites the mob to beat him up.

The finale "With Open Eyes" initially takes place at Caroline's Barbados residence with Roman taking up refuge and the siblings go to visit him. All this takes place while Tom shares dinner with GoJo CEO Matsson, where he offers the position of CEO to Tom, not his wife Shiv, who Matsson has been secretly plotting with. Greg finds out, through a Swedish translator app, that Shiv will not be becoming CEO and phones Kendall to inform him. The siblings all agree to turn against him and endorse Kendall for CEO.

Back at the board meeting in New York, Roman rejects the deal and endorses Kendall for CEO. The deciding vote is left to Shiv, who expresses her doubts over Kendall. The three have a destructive confrontation in private, where Shiv brings up the dead waiter from season one and Kendall says it never happened. Roman in anger says Kendall's children aren't legitimate, insinuating Kendall is infertile. Kendall attacks Roman and Shiv walks back into the meeting and votes for the deal. The episode ends with Tom and Shiv reluctantly holding hands in the back of a car with Tom announced as CEO. Roman is seen drinking alone at a bar and Kendall, followed distantly by his bodyguard, stares onto the crashing waves at Battery Park.
