Answer: Tramontana

The Tramontana mountains or Sierra de Trumuntana ('mountains of the north wind') extend for 88km from Andratx to Pollenca, with the rocky outcrops of Sa Dragonera and Cap de Formentor at either end of 10 peaks over 1,000 metres high.
Formentor is a promontory in the far north of the island, Banyas Arabi are ancient Arab baths in Palma and Son Sant Joan is the official name of Palma International Airport.

Viticulture was introduced to Majorca by the Romans. Binissalem is the most famous of Mallorquin wines with the red variety produced from Manto Negro, the local grape.

Fray Serra was born Miguel Serra y Abram on November 24th 1713. Today he is known as the 'Apostle of California', his birthday being a public holiday in that state. His statue stands in the Capitol Building, Washington DC and he is currently a candidate for canonization.

The Cuevas del Drac ('dragon caves') are situated on the outskirts of the town of Porto Cristo. The French geologist Edouard Martel explored the caves in 1896 and found 6,550 feet of caves and 6 underground lakes, the largest (Lake Martel) being named after him. One of the most awe-inspiring sights I have seen is the lady and musician emerging in a boat across the lake in view of the darkened underground auditorium.

Michael and Catherine, along with Elton John and Claudia Schiffer own holiday villas on the island. Gwyneth Paltrow hires a villa each summer.

Lanzarote (307 sq mi) is the smallest of the Canary Islands.

The Canaries constitute two provinces of Spain, Las Palmas and Santa Cruz De Tenerife and are located in the Atlantic Ocean 70 miles off the north-west coast of Africa.
