27. Whose castle stands proud at the center of The Magic Kingdom in Disney World?

From Quiz The Walt Disney World Experience

Answer: Cinderella

The Cinderella Castle is not as it appears. It looks taller than it actually is due to a technique called "forced perspective". Large, fake bricks at the base of the castle gradually decrease in size as they ascend the structure. In reality, no bricks are used in the castle at all. Instead, it is constructed from a combination of concrete, steel, fibreglass, and plaster. When the plans for the castle were drawn up, Walt Disney himself intended to move into the castle with his family in a special family suite. Unfortunately, Walt passed away before this could become a reality. Another interesting fact about the castle is that it faces south, just like The Sleeping Beauty Castle. This orientation was chosen to give amateur photographers the best opportunity to capture the perfect photo. The Sleeping Beauty Castle, situated in Disneyland, California, was opened in 1971 and is the only Disney castle that was envisioned and experienced by Walt Disney himself. Standing at 77 feet tall, it utilises forced perspective, employing lighter, bluer hues on the upper towers to produce an illusion of increased height, rendering it the smallest Disney castle, designed to act as an enchanting symbol rather than a large-scale building.
