Cassandra Clare Trivia Questions

1. Who is Emma's parabatai?

From Quiz
"Lady Midnight" by Cassandra Clare

Answer: Julian

A parabatai is like a Shadowhunter's soul best friend. Julian and Emma live in the Los Angeles Institute.

2. This character was part Shadowhunter and part demon with the power to Change into other people. Who was she?

From Quiz The Characters of "The Infernal Devices"

Answer: Tessa Gray

Tessa Gray was the main character of the trilogy. At the beginning of the first book, "Clockwork Angel", she traveled from her home in New York City to London after she had received a letter from her brother who had been working there. Upon arrival, though, she was kidnapped by the Dark Sisters. Eventually, she was rescued by the Shadowhunters of the London Institute and began to live with them. Her mother was a Shadowhunter without Marks and her father was an Eidolon demon. Because of this lineage, she was a warlock with the ability to Change into other people if she held something that belonged to them. Throughout the series, she was in love with both Will and Jem. Because of her immortality and the fact that Jem had become a Silent Brother, she was able to marry and live her life with both boys. Tessa was a smart, independent girl who loved to read. She wore a necklace with a small clockwork angel on it.

3. Who are the heads of the London Institute?

From Quiz The Characters from "The Infernal Devices"

Answer: Charlotte and Henry Branwell

Although the head is technically Henry, Charlotte runs the Institute most of the time. Other shadowhunters think it is improper to have a woman running the Institute. Theresa and Henry Starkweather are not real characters, they're just a mix of names from the series. Jessamine and Nathaniel Gray aren't really shadowhunters, therefore they can't run the Institute. Lastly, Maryse and Benedict Lightwood are from different time periods so they've never even met.

The next day, when Will's older sister, Ella, died, Will decided to leave his family to protect them and went to the London Institute. Later, when Tessa arrived and he fell in love with her, he sought the help of the warlock Magnus Bane to help him to find the demon who had cursed him so he could break the curse. When they eventually found the demon, however, it turned out that there had never been a curse. At that point, Will had believed himself cursed for about five years and during that time he had been rude to everyone and pushed them away to save them. After discovering the curse was fake, he was able to show his true personality. Will eventually went on to marry Tessa and have children with her. He also became the head of the London Institute after Charlotte.
