Kelly was first introduced in "The Girl Next Door" when Matthew is telling Danielle how much he cares about her. Kelly becomes friendly with Matthew and his friends, but turns on Matthew when Danielle doesn't want to star in his movies anymore. Kelly ruined Matthew's chances of getting his scholarship by giving him ecstasy after hitting him. He also took the money Matthew raised to bring the Cambodian genius, Samnang, to the U.S. Kelly also used to be partners with Hugo Posh, the successful director, and is bitter that Hugo stole his movie ideas. Matthew later steals Kelly's idea for using the real teenagers in the sex ed video.

Kelly threatens to show Matthew's parents and Mr Salinger the tape unless Matthew gives him his half of the proceeds, and when Matthew refuses, Kelly follows through his his threat. After a brief introduction from April and Ferrari, in which they advise us that this is not a "raunchy porn video", and that "you're not going to see sex, you're going to see sex education". The video then display a screen saying "The Eli Experience presents", followed by a subsequent screen that shows the title of the film "Adult Education" along with its subtitle "Sex Education for the 21st Century".

When Matthew and Danielle go to the diner after she makes Matthew strip in the middle of the street, Danielle draws a self portrait of herself with crayons. After Kelly threatens Matthew at the convention, Matthew hands the drawing to Danielle and tells her that she deserves better and that he knows the real her.

One of the things that Matthew really wanted to get was the Sheridan Scholarship and he even made a speech that he was going to recite to help him get it, but, he didn't know that the pill that Kelly gave him was the drug ecstasy and after he took it, it started to make him act really weird and he even messed up on his speech when he was reciting it. Then, the winner of the Sheridan Scholarship was Ryan Winger and all Matthew could do was sit back and watch Ryan collect what he really wanted to have.

Complete with a note saying "The juice was worth the squeeze", this is a nice touch from Matthew, subtly thanking his "mentor" for his "help" in what he has achieved. These achievements are summed up in the final few shots of the movie as we see Matthew driving his brand new BMW into Georgetown, with his voice in the background saying, "My own scholarship to Georgetown", followed by him saying, "And of course, I'll never forget the girl next door", and we see him walking over to Danielle, who is stood next to her car, with the two embracing to end the movie.
