1. What item does Joe keep in his file cabinet at work?

From Quiz
Once Upon a Time There Was a Guy Named Joe...

Answer: Lamp

Tom Hanks plays Joe Banks, a former fireman who works a life sucking job in a dreary factory. As Joe begins his work day, he enters his office, and removes a colorful lamp from his top file cabinet. Later, when Joe's boss Mr. Waturi comes in to speak with him, he questions Joe about the lamp, and forces him to take the lamp off his desk. It is made known in the conversation between Joe and his boss that Joe has the lamp to cheer him up because the fluorescent lights in the factory bring him down.

2. What did Joe do for a living, before he worked as an advertising librarian at the medical supply company?

From Quiz Joe vs. the Volcano

Answer: He was a fireman.

We never see Joe at this job. His doctor discusses it with him as the reason for his hypochondria. Samuel Graynamore also brings it up, calling Joe a hero.

4. DeDe: "What's with the shoe?" Joe: "I'm losing my ____." Can you finish this quote?

From Quiz Once Upon a Time There Was a Guy Named Joe...

Answer: Sole

5. When Joe and DeDe are having dinner, Joe bribes the band to play a song that will drive them insane and make their hearts swell and burst. What song do the musicians play (in Spanish)?

From Quiz Joe vs. the Volcano

Answer: On the Street Where You Live

It's hard to hear Joe's offscreen dialogue, but if you listen carefully, you can hear him giving the band five dollars to play the song. It's not clear whether Joe requests this song specifically or if the band chooses it on their own, but it seems to work on DeDe. The English version of the song is, of course, from 'My Fair Lady'.

6. What is Joe's last name?

From Quiz Joe VS The Volcano

Answer: Banks

Banks rhymes with Hanks...isn't that funny?

7. After Joe confesses to DeDe that he only has six months to live, she can't handle it and leaves his apartment, but comes back a few seconds later. Why?

From Quiz Joe vs. the Volcano

Answer: She had left her bag in Joe's apartment.
