From Quiz Who Played Me in "Something's Gotta Give"?
Answer:
Jack Nicholson
Nicholson, born on April 22nd, 1937 in New York City, was cast as Harry Sanborn. Harry mentioned that he believed he was an expert on the younger woman since he had been dating them for over 40 years. In his first scene, he drove in his convertible with a woman named Marin riding shotgun. Marin mentioned to Harry that her mother was rich but then she backed off and said she did not consider her rich. Harry stated that if she lived within a mile of where they were, she would be rich. Marin then informed Harry that her mother was a playwright since she had a hit play. Harry did meet Marin's mother, Erica, and the two of them were seen in the movie bantering around. In the final scene of the movie, Harry and Erica were a couple after Erica chose him over her other love interest, Julian Mercer. Nicholson starred in the movies "The Shining", "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "About Schmidt". In 1975, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the movie, "Chinatown", but lost to Art Carney for "Harry and Tonto". Other Oscar nominees for Best Actor in a Leading Role that year were Albert Finney for "Murder on the Orient Express", Dustin Hoffman for "Lenny" and Al Pacino for "The Godfather: Part II".
