5. Sally says I should go to the source for her favourite....but she can't remember the name. What Beatles song starts with the lyrics:
"There's nothing you can do that can't be done"?
From Quiz First Comes Love
Answer:
All You Need Is Love
One thing I didn't know about 'All You Need Is Love' before Sally told me is that it was a commissioned work. It's been such a familiar piece for ...well...forever, and most people, regardless of age, are able to sing along to it. (As a kid, I used to play the 'mouth trumpet' when that part came on, how embarrassing!). But the work itself was requested by the BBC as the UK's contribution to the first ever live global satellite television hook-up, called 'Our World'.
It is widely respected for its sophisticated, yet seemingly simple musical movements and, of course, for the inclusion of 'La Marseillaise', 'Invention No.8 in F major' (by Bach), and snippets of numerous other well-known works.
