Stone Sour was founded by vocalist Corey Taylor and drummer Joel Ekman in 2002. Shawn Economake joined as their bass player with Jim Root joining in 1995. These four performed together until 1997, also recording three demo tapes, before going on hiatus. Johny Chow joined Stone Sour in 2012 during the band's House of Gold & Bone's tour.
