Vasili Koslov, who had never held a rifle before, learned fast as the Germans attacked just moments after his training started. Each army's weapons have a counterpart in each other faction. The American BAR, British Bren LMG, and German MP44 are all support guns. The Russians don't actually have a weapon labeled as a support gun; the closest thing they have is the PPS42, which is still quite effective. Support guns have a high rate of fire, but can also be fired one shot at a time, and their power and accuracy is good enough that it can replace a rifle. Support guns are basically a standard rifle's power and accuracy crossed with a submachine gun's rate of fire. The downside is that support guns are heavy and restrict movement speed and have a long reload time.
