Answer: Thelma and Louise

The snake's name was Thelma and Louise. I do believe the snake has passed on because I haven't seen it on exhibit lately.
2. What is the name of the baby panda born at the zoo in 2000?

Answer: Hua Mei

Her name is Hua Mei, which means USA-China, or something like that.
3. In 2001 San Diego Zoo did not have a Komodo Dragon.

Answer: False

The San Diego Zoo houses a Komodo Dragon in the Reptile House.
4. What was the name of the orangutan that was euthanized in December, 2000?

Answer: Ken Allen

His name was Ken Allen and he was a favorite among the zoo animals. He was recently euthanized because of his poor health.
5. Which is NOT considered a section of the San Diego Zoo?

Answer: Paws and Claws

There is no such thing as a 'Paws and Claws' section. I made that up.
6. The San Diego Zoo once housed a rare, white tiger.

Answer: True

As a baby she was smuggled into the USA from Mexico and was once owned by a racetrack in Tijuana, Mexico.
7. What weird-looking animal is on exhibit in San Diego's Children's Zoo?

Answer: Naked mole rat

There was a Naked mole rat exhibit at the San Diego Zoo. A year or so ago, several of them died :( leaving only but a few left. I do not know what caused their death.
8. For most of the history of the zoo, what bird exhibit was right next to the bus tour entrance?

Answer: Flamingos

There was a flamingo exhibit next to the bus tour entrance. Peacocks were sometimes spotted there hanging out with the flamingos but there is no 'peacock exhibit.'
9. What MAIN exhibit do you pass by at the end of the bus tour?

Answer: Koalas

You pass by a koala exhibit at the end of the guided bus tour.
10. Which of these exhibits is closest to the zoo entrance?

Answer: Tiger River

Of all these exhibits, Tiger River is the closest to the zoo entrance.
