Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. You have played 565 quizzes on Funtrivia. Some of those quizzes are from the Celebrities Category and its subcategories. You really like Orlando Bloom, so you decide to create a quiz about him. Out of the following, which would be a proper title to give your quiz?

Answer: Facts About Orlando Bloom

Facts About Orlando Bloom, would be a proper title to give your quiz. It has proper spelling and is worded well. It also informs potential quiz players that they will learn facts about the Orlando Bloom.

Also, when you are attempting to have your quiz placed online, having a single word such as hottie, spelled out entirely in upper case, is the equivalent of screaming, and will cause your quiz to be rejected. He is known as Orlando Bloom or Orlando or Bloom; not Orli or OB and therefore nicknames or abbreviated versions of a celebrity's name will not be tolerated, as Funtrivia has quiz players that live in other countries and may not know that OB or Orli means Orlando Bloom. It will also cause you to receive a rejection note from the Celebrity Editor(s). Also, numerous exclamation points are unacceptable, only one is sufficient and if you should submit your quiz with more than one, your quiz will be rejected. The only way to have your quiz title accepted is to follow the guidelines and create a proper title for your quiz.
2. You have just finished watching a biography about Bruce Willis and decide that you want to create a quiz about him. You research your quiz, type it all out, and submit it. The Celebrities editors look at your quiz, and reject it, stating that you need to supply actual interesting information. Which of the following would be considered unacceptable interesting information?

Answer: I believe that Demi and Bruce will get back together.

I believe that Demi and Bruce will get back together, would not be considered to be proper interesting information, as it is just your opinion that they will get back together. The other three answers would be considered actual interesting information.
3. You enjoy listening to Madonna, and want to create a quiz on her song "Holiday". Would a quiz that is about the lyrics of that song be accepted in the Celebrities Category?

Answer: No

The Celebrities Category does not accept quizzes that are entirely about a specific song, as those quizzes are housed in the Music category.
4. You are a big fan of N'Sync, and want to create a quiz about them. You think that you have the perfect introduction to your quiz. The entire quiz is about their song lyrics, history of the band and awards they have received. Where would a quiz of this nature be placed?

Answer: Music Category

At one time all quizzes of a celebrity nature, whether they were music celebrities or about actors and actresses, were housed in the Celebrities Category. Before you attempt to create or submit any quizzes, it is best to review quizzes in different categories or to ask an editor where you quiz would best be suited.
5. You have played almost every quiz in the Celebrities Category, and you believe that you can create a quiz that is better than what is online already. So you submit your first quiz, and it is done completely in the format of fill in the blank type questions. Would your quiz be accepted?

Answer: No

Unfortunately, all of your hard work would be rejected with a note informing you that all first time quiz creators, must submit their first quiz in a multiple choice format. Fill in the blank type questions are only for experienced quiz creators, and regardless of how many quizzes you have played, your first quiz would still have to be in the multiple choice format.

However, you would be allowed to use true or false and yes or no type questions, but not for every single question.
6. You are a new member and your favorite subject is celebrities. You set out to play all of the quizzes that are in the Celebrities Category, and come across a quiz that has what you believe to be incorrect information. Which of the following is the proper way to inform the quiz creator of the possible error?

Answer: Send a well written correction notice informing the quiz creator of the error, complete with why you believe it to be incorrect

It is proper for you to send a correction message to quiz creators, if they have what you believe to be incorrect information. However, that does not mean that you have to send nasty, rude or vulgar messages to the quiz creator. If you should send messages like the incorrect answers listed above, you can be assured that the editors will no doubt intercept it, and send you a stern warning. This is a family oriented site, that has small children who play quizzes and neither they nor the editors need to receive such messages.

By sending a proper correction notice, you can help the editors help the quiz creator improve upon their quiz.
7. You have played the required number of quizzes and are now ready to create your first quiz. You decide you want to write a quiz on Samuel Pepys. You believe it belongs in the celebrity category, so you work diligently on your quiz and submit it to the celebrity category only to receive a rejection note. What would be the reason you would receive a rejection note from a Celebrities editor on a quiz about Samuel Pepys?

Answer: It belongs in the People category under "Individual Authors"

While Samuel Pepys is a celebrity in his own right, he is not a Hollywood (Actor/Actress)Celebrity and therefore, a quiz about him belongs in People under Individual Authors, providing it is about his life. Therefore, the only reason a Celebrities Editor would send a rejection note, would be because the quiz was not properly categorised and said editor would explain to you if they were to see anything else that needed to be adjusted in the quiz before you, as the quiz author, recategorises it and resubmits it to the People Category under Individual Authors.
8. You submit a quiz on the real names of Hollywood Celebrities. You create a proper title, introduction, decent questions, but your interesting information repeats exactly what your questions say. Is this considered acceptable?

Answer: No

If you submit a quiz that has a proper title, well written introduction, and decent questions, but repeat the same exact information that is in your questions, then your quiz would be sent back to you with a rejection note. The reason it would be sent back, is because interesting information is added or extra information that explains your question in detail.

It is not a good idea to leave the quiz players hanging...wanting to know why this answer or that answer is right or wrong.
9. You have submitted what you believe to be the perfect celebrities quiz, along with a proper title, introduction, questions, and interesting information. However, the editor looks at your quiz and discovers that you have numerous spelling, typos, and grammatical errors. The editor therefore sends you a rejection note, but you are still not sure as to what needs to be done. Which of the following is the correct way to handle the rejection note?

Answer: Send a message to the editor that sent you the correction note asking for a more detailed message

If you should receive a rejection note from an editor, and you are unsure as to exactly what the errors are, you should ask the editor that sent you the message for a more detailed note. The editors are here to edit your quizzes, and to assist you if you should need help. If you do not ask the editors, we do not know what areas are problematic for you and therefore cannot assist you properly.

It is not wise to attempt to resubmit your quiz in the hopes that another editor will place it online, as we look at the notes attached to a quiz before editing or re-editing it. It is also not a good idea to delete your quiz and rewrite it, because the editors are very much aware of what quizzes the quiz creators submit, and it only makes our jobs harder. You should never complain in the forums about why your quiz is not online. In most cases, the editing queues are overloaded, depending on the category that you submit your quiz and it takes time for the editors to go through them, after all, we are volunteers. Also, editors reject quizzes for various reasons and complaining in the forums will not endear you to the editing staff.
10. You decide that you want to create a quiz on Jennifer Lopez. You submit your quiz and it contains this question: Who will be J'Lo's current husband? Would this question be accepted?

Answer: No

Who will be J'Lo's current husband? Unfortunately, this question would not be accepted because it is date and time dependent. The Celebrities Category does not accept questions that will not remain constant in 5, 10 or 25 years. Quizzes cannot have questions that contain the words: As of, currently, and presently, etc. Quizzes that have questions that are date and time dependent will be sent back with a rejection note. Also, providing your quiz about Jennifer Lopez is about her acting career and life, it would belong in the Celebrities Category. Hopefully you have scored well on this quiz, and will have no trouble creating a proper celebrity quiz.
