Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott, Jessica Simpson

Answer: The Dukes of Hazzard (film)

"The Dukes of Hazzard" was a 2005 film that featured the same characters and followed the same recipe as the television show. Seann William Scott portrayed Bo Duke, Johnny Knoxville was Luke Duke, and Jessica Simpson, in her film debut, portrayed Daisy Duke. Also appearing in the film were Willie Nelson, Burt Reynolds, and Lynda Carter.

The film received poor reviews but debuted at number one in the US box office and eventually brought in over $100 million worldwide.
2. Don Adams, Barbara Feldon, Edward Platt

Answer: Get Smart (TV series)

"Get Smart" was the brainchild of the great Mel Brooks, along with Buck Henry, and ran for nearly five years from 1965 to 1970. Don Adams starred as the hapless Agent 86, Maxwell Smart, backed up by Barbara Feldon's Agent 99. The series is fondly remembered in American comedy for its pastiche of the spy genre (who can forget Maxwell's shoe phone - how ridiculous was that?!).
3. Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Hugh Grant

Answer: The Man from UNCLE (film)

Hoping to emulate the slick spy action of its twentieth-century television counterpart, 2015's "The Man from UNCLE" cast Henry Cavill in the role of Napoleon Solo, with Armie Hammer's Illya Kuryakin as his associate. The film is set in the 1960s, with the CIA and KGB collaborating (albeit reluctantly) to prevent a Nazi-fuelled nuclear attack.

The Guy Ritchie-directed film received lukewarm reviews.
4. Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Brie Larson

Answer: 21 Jump Street (film)

Unlike the original television series, the 2012 adaptation of "21 Jump Street" was more comedic and action-oriented, but still retaining the same premise of policeman going undercover in high school. Tatum's Jenko and Hill's Schmidt investigate a new drug doing the rounds at a local school and try to stop the drug and its supplier from spreading further.

The film was a modest success and a sequel, "22 Jump Street", was released in 2014 to similar praise.
5. Johnny Depp, Holly Robinson, Peter DeLuise

Answer: 21 Jump Street (TV series)

The show that made Johnny Depp a star, "21 Jump Street" ran from 1987 to 1991 and was one of the early hits on Fox. Depp played Officer Tom Hanson, one of several youthful police agents who were able to go undercover as teenagers. The show also featured Peter DeLuise (Dom's son), Holly Robinson, and Richard Grieco. Grieco only appeared for a couple of years before getting a short-lived spin-off for his character, Dennis Booker.
6. Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx, Naomie Harris

Answer: Miami Vice (film)

Crockett and Tubbs returned, played by Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx respectively, in the 2006 big screen version of "Miami Vice". Narcotics and a Floridian backdrop, of course, make a return too, with Crockett and Tubbs heading undercover to foil a drug scheme (so, business as usual then).

The film wasn't too favourably received and only just managed to turn a small profit, apparently not quite matching up to the success of its small screen sibling.
7. Robert Vaughn, David McCallum, Leo G Carroll

Answer: The Man from UNCLE (TV series)

The unlikely teaming-up of CIA and KGB operatives formed the basis of the action in "The Man from UNCLE", which originally aired between 1964 and 1968. "UNCLE" stood for United Network Command for Law and Enforcement, with the perennial bad guys from the organisation called THRUSH (but this didn't actually stand for anything in the television series). Robert Vaughn's suave American agent Napoleon Solo and David McCallum's enigmatic Russian spy Illya Kuryakin proved a popular team (though the later series became more comical (and sometimes ridiculous) in tone and this ultimately led to its cancellation.
8. Steve Carrell, Anne Hathaway, Alan Arkin

Answer: Get Smart (film)

Steve Carrell took on the mantle of Maxwell Smart in 2008's film version of "Get Smart", joined by Anne Hathaway as his partner in crime-fighting, Agent 99. When the identities of CONTROL's field agents are compromised by KAOS, Smart is allowed out into the field as the newly-promoted Agent 86, and joined by Agent 99, to discover the nefarious machinations at play.

The film received a reasonable reception, though some felt it didn't quite live up to its forebear.
9. Don Johnson, Philip Michael Thomas, Olivia Brown

Answer: Miami Vice (TV series)

"Miami Vice" ran from 1984 to 1989 and starred Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as undercover Miami police officers Sonny Crockett and Rico Tubbs. Other cast members included Edward James Olmos as Lieutenant Marty Castillo, Olivia Brown as Officer Trudy Joplin, and Elvis the alligator, Crockett's pet who lived on his boat.

The flashy show was aimed at the "MTV generation" and featured a pop music soundtrack and appearances by popular stars of the day such as Phil Collins and Glenn Frey.
10. Tom Wopat, John Schneider, Catherine Bach

Answer: The Dukes of Hazzard (TV series)

The television show "The Dukes of Hazzard" ran from 1979 to 1985 and followed the adventures of cousins Bo (John Schneider) and Luke Duke (Tom Wopat) in Hazzard County, Georgia. On the show, Catherine Bach portrayed their waitress cousin Daisy Duke, and the Duke's Dodge Charger (another star of the show) was known as the General Lee.

The short shorts that Bach wore on the show became a popular fashion trend and were called Daisy Dukes. The theme song to the show, "The Good Ol' Boys", was written and performed by Waylon Jennings and reached number one on the American Country chart.
