Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In issue #98, which Avenger is missing?

Answer: Clint Barton

Clint Barton is best-known as the overly-accurate archer Hawkeye, but he has also taken Hank Pym's growth serum to become Goliath. He had been missing ever since the end of the Kree-Skrull War, but soon returned.
2. Which Avenger has forgotten his name and his past?

Answer: Hercules

Hercules was found in Europe by Hawkeye before he returned to the Avengers after the Kree-Skrull War. Hercules eventually regains both his memories and everything else, and helps the Avengers fight the hate-mongering crowds in New York's roads.
3. Every superhero who had ever been an Avenger gathered at Garrett Castle to plan an invasion of what place?

Answer: Olympus

The Avengers planned to infiltrate Olympus and defeat the god of war, Ares, who had been up to his usual evil deeds down on Earth, and whom the Avengers blamed for erasing Hercules' memories.
4. The Vision was offered the human body of Wonder Man.

Answer: True

The Grim Reaper, Wonder Man's brother, offered the Vision a chance to be human in exchange for the Vision's betrayal of his Avenger teammates. Luckily, the Vision did not give in to temptation.
5. How many people did Leonard Tippit have to kill?

Answer: 5

Leonard Tippit, a perfectly ordinary man and somewhat of a humdrum, was chosen by the Beyonder to be imbued with superpowers. He was told that unless he killed five specific individuals, the Earth would be destroyed. In the end, Tippit was able to save the world without killing anyone.
6. A Sentinel is dispatched to kidnap which mutant?

Answer: The Scarlet Witch

A group of Sentinels, mutant-hunting robots, battled the Avengers starting in issue #102. Larry Trask, the son of the man who created the Sentinels, figured prominently in the story.
7. Another villain the Avengers faced was the bizzare Space Phantom. What was his deadly superpower?

Answer: He could take the form of other people

The Space Phantom can imitate any form he wants to, which he can use to create confusion and mayhem! In issue #106, he uses this unique power to muddle the Avengers and pit them against each other!
8. Who quits the Avengers in issue #109?

Answer: Clint Barton

Clint Barton is usually known as the bow-slinging Hawkeye, but has also briefly been the growing Goliath. Always hot-headed, he broke things off with the Avengers because he felt out of place in the team with such heavy-hitters as Thor and Iron Man. After appearing in one issue of Daredevil's title book, he joined the Defenders.
9. In issue #114 we meet Mantis. Who is her travelling partner?

Answer: Swordsman

Mantis is an expert martial artist, but was working as a prostitute in a bar when she met a down-on-his-luck Swordsman. After she helped him get back on his feet, they both joined the Avengers, despite the fact that the Swordsman was in fact a former villain.
10. Shortly before the Avengers/Defenders war, Loki was allied to the otherworldly Dormammu! What was Loki's ailment?

Answer: He was blind

Loki, the Norse god of mischief, is an evil-doing relative of Thor, and is in fact the villain that unintentionally caused the Avengers to band together!
