Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The first WWF Heavyweight Title change in "Raw" history took place on February 17, 1997 as Bret Hart lost the WWF Heavyweight Title to Sycho Sid. Who interfered in the match on Sid's behalf?

Answer: Stone Cold Steve Austin

For those that remember, the match was supposed to take place at various times in the program, but there were a few false starts. Late in the match, Stone Cold Steve Austin entered the ring with a steel chair and hit Bret with it. This enabled Sid to give Bret the "Powerbomb" and become the new champion.
2. Who was the WWF Heavyweight Champion heading into the June 29, 1998 episode of "Raw?"

Answer: Kane

The previous night at "King Of The Ring," Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kane met in a First Blood Match. Kane would win the WWF Heavyweight Title after the Undertaker busted Austin open with a steel chair. The next night on "Raw," Austin demanded a rematch and Kane nodded his head yes. Austin became WWF Heavyweight Champion for the second time after giving Kane the "Stone Cold Stunner."
3. Who became the WWF Heavyweight Champion on the January 4, 1999 episode of "Raw?"

Answer: Mankind

Mankind took on The Rock for the WWF Heavyweight Title. It looked bleak for Mankind, as it looked like the Rock would retain the title. But Stone Cold Steve Austin came to the ring and hit the Rock with a steel chair. He then put Mankind's arm on the Rock and Mankind became one of the most unlikely champions in WWF history.

It would be the first of 3 title reigns for the "Hardcore Legend."
4. On February 15, 1999 Mankind defended the WWF Heavyweight Title against the Rock. What kind of match did they have?

Answer: Ladder Match

Toward the end of the match the Big Show came to the ring and reached for Mankind as he was climbing up the ladder. He grabbed hold and gave Mankind a devastating "Chokeslam" off the top of the ladder. This allowed the Rock to climb to the top and grab the title to become the new champion.
5. On June 28, 1999 Stone Cold Steve Austin defeated the Undertaker to become WWF Heavyweight Champion for the _____ time. Can you fill in the blank?

Answer: Fourth

Austin had lost his title as WWF CEO the night before, but gave himself power to make any match he wanted to have on "Raw" while he was in power. Late in the match, he gave the Undertaker the "Stone Cold Stunner" and covered him, but Paul Bearer pulled out the referee. Austin gave the Undertaker another "Stunner" and this time the referee was there to count to three. Austin won the WWF Heavyweight Title for the fourth time.
6. August 23, 1999 was the aftermath of "Summerslam." Mankind would defend the WWF Heavyweight Title against _____. Can you fill in the blank?

Answer: Triple H

As Chyna distracted the referee Shane McMahon and Triple H both hit Mankind with chairs. Triple H then pinned him to become WWF Heavyweight Champion for the first time.
7. The first WWF Heavyweight Title change in "Smackdown" history took place on September 16, 1999 as Triple H lost the title to ____. Can you fill in the blank?

Answer: Vince McMahon

Toward the end of a brutal battle Stone Cold Steve Austin entered the ring and gave Triple H the "Stone Cold Stunner." He then put Vince's arm on Triple H and Vince pinned him to become the new WWF Heavyweight Champion! He would vacate the title the following Monday on "Raw."
8. Who became the first new WWF Heavyweight Champion of the 21st century on January 3, 2000?

Answer: Triple H

Triple H wrestled the Big Show for the WWF Heavyweight Title. At one point Chyna distracted the referee and this allowed Triple H to give the Big Show a low blow. He then gave the Big Show the "Pedigree" to start off the year 2000 with a bang.
9. On October 8, 2001 Kurt Angle defended the WWF Heavyweight Title against Stone Cold Steve Austin. Who defected to the Alliance and cost him the title?

Answer: William Regal

With the referee knocked out on the outside Austin grabbed the WWF Heavyweight Title and attempted to hit Angle with it, but Regal stopped him from doing so by gabbing the title from him. Regal then hit Kurt with the title and got the referee back in the ring.

The referee counted to two before Angle kicked out. Austin then gave Kurt the "Stone Cold Stunner" and covered him. The referee counted to three and Austin became the WWF Heavyweight Champion for the sixth time.
10. On September 18, 2003 Kurt Angle defended the WWE Heavyweight Title against Brock Lesnar in a 60 Minute Ironman Match. How many total falls were in the match?
