The thirteen American colonies won the war and their independence from British rule. Not all those who lived in the colonies supported independence, but the group that wanted it gained control of the colonies by defeating the English soldiers and their supporters.

This battle took place in 1876. The Native Americans defeated General Custer's soldiers.
